    hello

Hi Mike.......another southampton angler eh?? Welcome aboard chap, enjoy the best fishing forum on the net. Rich
  11. Hi BB, good to hear, and early showing usually means a half decent season ahead! On the off chance that you are available at short notice, Ive booked Josh on wed April 9th, for a trip during our half term. Its on the back of the tree big springs, so fishing should be ok. One of the teachers is willing to pay up front to hold his seat, but is less than 50/50 as to whether he can make it, I can let you know maybe 48 hrs in advance?? Im sure it will be paid, so if you fancy a day out for a donation for goodwil...fill ure boots. Our chef will be providing scoff, bring your own beer!! Rich
  12. PJ, if you fancy a day on this one, or a morning/afternoon, you're more than welcome. We have a few windows of oppertunity left before season end, so give me a bell/PM. Rich
  13. After taking down a few tonnes of willow over the Itchen, I was given the oppertunity to fish a stretch that is only given 35 days fishing a year, so took the light spinning rod and a box of small shads along to have a few flicks for some late season Pike. The last few days of dull overcast weather had fish moving from the first cast, an on looker was amazed, (no more than myself), when the first cast directly in front of the fishing lodge produced a fish, nothing huge, but a good indicator for the day. Three casts every ten paces brought quite a few takes, with four fish topping 11lbs on the bank in the first 22 minutes, not a bad start. Then a small trout for my troubles, unhooked and slipped back to sip a mayfly later this year, and a move across the river to the opposite bank to flick a few casts along the bank I had missed. Five more fish, a tad smaller, biggest going 9lbs, all taken on a tiny tiny stormy Fire Tiger. I then met the River Keeper, and took him along to man the net, as takes were fast and furious. Walking upstream towards Twyford, I managed three more doubles, but no crocodiles showing, so I have arranged to go back later this weekend, and fish the deeper stretches and the junction with the canal, to see if the twenty can be taken. The pressure looks good, as does the forecast, so I'll be back to see about another few hours. Interestingly enough, only one fish came to an upstream cast, which was a poor percentage really, but I'll give it another go this sunday. Rich
  14. Mike, fone up Garmin and express your interest in the item, ask them for advice, and mention the club. I went in there recently to grab a new transducer mount, and was fishinmg for club sponsorship, so all enquiries from PBSBAC should be well recieved, plus th more enq's they get from us, the more likely they might be to sponsor. You should take more water with that Reg!! Hope all is well....... Rich
  16. Rob, Ive taken 30" snook and hooked a half decent Tarpon on my exage.......unfortunately it was broken on a trip to the river spinning for pike, the Diawa replacement isnt in the same league. Rich
  17. Martin, hasnt the guy from Alderney angling a tender? If so, perhaps a gesture might be appreciated if he can sort out use?? Rich

    live-bait tank

Jack, look at the physics that suggests that a round tank is better than a rectangular one. The round one won't slop as much as a square one. Simple to make simple to fix insitu, simple to repair, and simple constructions for simpletons............like me. Rich
  19. Spot on.....great reward for your months fishing hours Allun. Rich
  20. Charlie, if the place is still available, I'd love to join you guys, will be a good break from the situation here at home!!!! You can choose friends but you cant choose family!!! Rich
  21. Perhaps a good day to bring the village to a standstill with boats on trailers?? Show them that the charter boys have a good amount of support?
  22. For sure Charlie, thanks.
  23. Charlie, if there is a spare seat, I will be available for this one also. Rich
  24. Neal, get the date, I will look at the holliday list and join you if you wish. Can also see if the short meister is interested in a team. Coddy is into his speicies hunts now, so he may be a starter. Email rich.swain@tiscali.co.uk Rich
  25. Hamper is now with the club chairman.......Debs old Ironing basket did come in handy after all!!! A good spread, similar to last years, well worth floundering about for. We hope o be out. Rich
