Nice report Charlie, good to see the whole family out enjoying the day together. As far as the dive boat are concerned, is there no etiquet re. who has first anchorage on a wreck, and safety at sea issues etc? If they do drop shot lines over your warp, they are endangering you and your crew are they not? If my memory serves me well, hasn't G.W. enough space up front to mount a deck cannon?? Rich PS......What is the chance of another evening trip Charlie? I STILL havent bagged a 40lb conger!!!! hehe

I think the lads have done well with orange tiger twin tails.....give these a try..theyre cheaper to lose than stormies!!! If anyone needs crew, I MAY be available...bloody work!!! It gets in the way!! If you are coming home early Duncan, I would be up to crew for you if you need someone, I'd get away with that! Rich

During my days in Kingsbridge south devon, I used to hand pick two stone of crab a day for the pub and hotel market. I would collect live crabs from the fisherman, and stab each one in the mouth area, then place it face down into a large bin, then drive back to the prep room. By this time, they had bled, I would then bang them into boiling water for 24 mins +/-, and this did them to a tee.The crabs were then left on steel tables to cool, when cool, refrigerated overninght. This congealed all the brown meat. All the different leg sections would be removed, claws separated, into upper and lower knuckles, and shells split. The brown meat can be scooped out and mashed. All leg meat can be removed, it comes out easiest backwards, I usedthe narrow end of a teaspoon to flick the meat backwards, it gets the whole thing out in one, the premium price went to larger lumps of white meat for crab salads. Claws are the same, flick the meat out backwards. I could prep two stone between 0600 and 0930.......crack on lads!!!!!! Rich

Paul, best months for stingers..........july and august......see you at the september meeting <ggg> Rich

Nice work Jack, I knew they would come across with a good price. I'm sure with a regular-ish order strategy, we can beat them down a little more. I'll give you a lend of my negotiating stick........ Rich

Adam, where will the final weigh in...or non weigh in taker place?? Are we able to get a stand by Bar-B-Que organised?? I dont mind getting that sorted. Be a shame not to round the weekend off without so much as a snifter!!! Rich
-
Adam, best get heads together for the ripps, as a few skippers have mentioned it, at least at the weigh in yesterday a few club boats stated they were nipping out there. We are indeed heading west, although the plan hasnt been stamped as TS, its pretty much not front tabloid stuff! PS Turf tonight hoperfully Rich

We did less well on Loyal Royal, although we did manage a few small bream. We also put the magnet to good effect to sqeak out two good specimen wrasse, and an undulate, as well as the usual poop fish. Rich
-
Brilliant fish, and top marks for returning...its great to see a superb specimen swim away, my Bass didnt hang about for too long before she nipped back to the depths off Alderney! Rich
-
Well, done Deano, nice one! By all accounts, the best charter boat bream went 2lb 6oz james Rich
-
Alun, if you have a 7000 LD BG similar to the other I purchased, I'll take it.....I'm pleased with mine, and am selling a couple of 6000's , as these are a little light for the weight needed in bigger tides. Rich

Thanks for organising the day Charlie, I thouroughly enjoyed fishing out East again, havent done it in a while, although most of our Police comps are fished out that way. Was great to see Sams pal sqeak out that thornie, and the Gar, giving a little bit of variety to his day. The smoothie action wasnt as prolific as can be, but judging by the other boats results for the day, PBSBAC showed the way out East!!!! Thanks for the lift down Kam.....I made my appointment on time!! See you guys Sunday, wind permitting!! Tight lines for sunday.....mines the four LBer please Rich

I'll call Andy this weekend, guys, and strive to find this ad that advertises stormies at

The best price Ive seen in the UK is 3.99 per pkt for all stormies. I cant find the address right now, but, if you speak to Andy Selby @ Weymouth Angling Center,01305 777771, just ask him about a bulk order for the Poole Bay Small Boats club, I'm sure he'll come across with a good deal. Rich
-
Jack, be mindfull of the diferent sizes available. Ive found that stormy eels ahve out fished any other lure mid channel on our last visit to the legs, 24 miles south of the needles, I caught 11 pollack, the rest of the boat caught 3 in total!! They work very well for the bass in tide, although i havent had much success in slack with stormy eels. I even caught a 2lb 40z gar on them in a comp last year, so I'm converted, and always have em in my box of goodies. Rich
-
Dan, ive drifted this mark frequently, but the bass dont go very large here. Best bet is the ledges round the back of the island, on the flood. Rich

Adam, great day, great weather, great company, thanks for your efforts in organising a smoothly run return leg. Heres a pic of the Bully, (hopefully!), thanks to Mark for the day out.
