Appaling day on Cara Cara...............fruitless hours on the tope grounds, with one short run going to James, then a few small pollack, bass and turbot sqeaked out of the banks......very poor really!! Rich

Alan, the reel is going well.......I'm off to the snake pit tomorrow, althouth the 7000 is possibly too small for the amount of lead we will be using, I hope it comes into its own on the kidney banks, after those specimen Ray!! Kam...have you tried Mike or Ted on Due South? Thats the charter we use monthly, fantastic skippers, excellent local knowledge, and not too dear. If you havent got numbers for the boat, bell me today, I'll pass em to you. Rich........ Kam, despite never fishing with Roger, I would echo previous replies re. Sundance charters. They seem to score hits each time we fish near them, but, yes, he is a tad expensive........however, if you pay for fried rice, you don't get the house special! Rich

Dave, I have been using these small bags for a few years now, I mash up cat food, a couple of tins of pilchards in oil, a couple of small cheapo tins of herrings in oil, bulk out with either bran or bread crumb, add some boiled rice, then squash it into ice cube trays to feeze. Once frozen, I pop out the cubes, and three or four fit nicely into the string bag. One draw back that I have encountered, is that the bag has a tendancy to twist in the trace, so I clip it to the lead, on a normal tube rig type boom. However........I'm still crap!!!! Rich
