I'd echo the remarks on the solic carbon Fladden, its a superb actioned rod.

Sam, we're getting peelers up in the mid to top reaches of Southampton Water, so you should be getting them on the beaches near you. Dead easy to spot...pinch the lower section of the leg, if it falls away and leaves flesh...the crab is a peeler, or ready to "pop". Bets storage, as I'm sure your dad knows, is in a tray, in the fridge, and spray them with sea water occasionally. Peelers here are 80p each...extortionate if you ask me, when you can collect boatloads in one trip to the tide reach. If you get stuck, I'll try Marchwood, Magazine Lane, for some reason that is a prolific peeler harvesting ground. Rich Ps I'll speak to BB re. hermits for the chater trip ok??

What Mikey neglected to tell you, is that to stop a heaving sea sickness feeling, a six inch nail is required to penetrate this area of soft skin, the pain takes over, thus rendering a seasickness feeling in the depths of subconciousness!!! Rich

An evening trip out with Charlie and Sam on Great White yesterday evening. Alas no Bream, however it was intersting to see Wedgers Magnet in operation for the first time. Just hanging it over the side of the boat dragged in surface feeders with ease. It was also intersting to see the speed at which it drops in slackish water, the slick on the surface, and the results......which were rapid. Ive used the bag method described by john, a very cheap and easy method of bottom bait distribution, but to see the magnet dissipate in the tide was good. I'll try that one. Rich

Duncan, Chris, the guy who B&B's us will give you areas best suited for fishing specific tide states and times, his knowledge is supreme! If you are seriously looking for the trip, and need a deck hand to share fuel costs, look no farther!! After a bad day three, I'm well up for some more flattie fishing!!! The shallow water pollacking on day one was superb also, it threw up a wrasse of just under 8lbs i believe.....to Richard English' One for his nob, what a specimen that was!!! Rich

Kam, if you have the budget, I would vote for the Isuzu Trooper, Bighorn, this vehicle tows the weed cutting boat, which weighs in at around 2.5 tons, with ease, and is possibly the comfiest 4x4 I have driven, it out strips my HI-Lux, Dads Land Rover, and various Shoguns I've driven. The torque on it is tremendous, well worth a look. Rich
