  14. Gastro was heading after the weed and freshening breeze called a early finish to the day about 3pm. Going up the Run against the ebb, we saw the Lifeboat ahead, going slowly, with some square lump tied alongside [ strange craft ?? or floating hazard recovered ??]. As we got closer, the 'Walls' logo was visible on what could now be seen to be a small freezer cabinet !! A chat to the lifeboat crew...and we were offered a Cornetto !!.....and a finger pointing to a tow rope disappearing under the stern.....they were also towing [the [now submerged ] dory.. They got it around to the slip.....just the prop showing above the upturned hull......People seemed more interested in the recovered freezer !!.....they seemed have rescued a few more ice creams !! My crew Clive took a few pics......he may post them here if he sees this !! Alun.
  15. Well done Rob....but that battery issue must have been a pain...and not something you want to do if it's bumpy.! Last year, my battery similarly packed up...and I got the Yam going again on the pull-cord. I found that running the engine when going back up the drift was enough to put enough back in the battery [ but did turn GPS/sounder off whilst drifting]. Your's sounds a bit more terminal. Hope it is just the battery and not a charging issue [ as Paul F, had !] Alun.
  16. Hi James..........WELL DONE !!! ... on another biggie ! Amazing what that area keeps producing !!

    COOL BOX

The only point I'd add is to ask you to consider how portable you want it to be... Icey-tek is great...but heavy for it's size....Adam's isn't often lifted off the boat! I've got two Igloo boxes...they are good [thermally] but the lids, handles and catches are more flimsy...but they are much lighter. The larger of mine is an Igloo 95 [a bit bigger than Adam's]....that mostly stays on the boat and allows most fish to stay straight !! The smaller box is about 50 l. and that is more useful to transport fish in the car [ but is often too small !] So....how much can you lift ?? .....and how much room in the car if you need to transport it ? Alun.
  22. Hi Ben..come have a look.
  23. I still think it's a bit early for bass this year. ........or tell me something different ??
  24. Bump..... I'll leave these here a few more days...before I auction them. Any interest???
