Great report thanks Steve .... that's very interesting about getting the blown fish back into the water. It always saddens me to see them struggling on the top.

Madness will be out on Saturday.
Martin was kind enough to invite me so it's Martin & Myself.
There's another space onboard and I'm gobsmacked to hear no takers.
Any of you new members fancy a day out & chance to mingle with a great skipper and an idiot on a fantastic boat I expect if you contact Martin now he'll take you aboard.
Tight lines to all who are entering but not as tight as ours. 🤪
I was very tempted, but once the forecast looked like it might produce lumps in the water I decided against it. No one wants an old bloke bringing last nights dinner up over the side of their boat!

I'm having yet another garage clear out and have a couple of bits that might be of some help to members.
7.5k anchor.
Small buoy (about 12 inches, banana for scale 😉)
2xl wet suit, about 15 years but never worn. Zip works like new.
Size 10 diving boots
Beaver fins
Small dive gloves.
Sherwood BCD
Collect from upton. Donation to the club charity only.
These have moved around my garage for years despite me knowing I'll never dive again.

A winter visitor to our coastlines, often seen in small flocks and once located the bird is confident in it's camouflaging feathers and therefore easier to study or photograph.
its not common on "our" coastlines, which is why it's causing such a stir.
"Only a few pairs of snow bunting breed here, so look out for this striking black-and-white bird in winter around Scotland, the North West and the East coast of England". -
I was rather hoping to get out for the first time since the summer and join the RNLI flounder comp, but it would seem my youngest grandchildren (twins) are playing rugby at Lytchett Minster on Sunday so Ive been summoned by their dad to be on the sideline to support them.

Im in awe of people who can do this sort of stuff.
Well done (and thanks) to Oli for his commitment up till now and good luck to those who have the task of changing it over. It might as well be in Swahili to me!

My Orkney leaks from the anchor well into the hull. Its supposed to drain to the back, where the auto bilge pump spits it out.
I took my boat out of the water a couple of years ago because I was constantly getting a small amount of dirty water in the rear of my hull and I lifted the floor. The drain holes between the sections of the boat had filled with sludge and the middle section was completely full of water. Id guess in the region of half a bath full of dirty water.I removed and replaced lots of structure from beneath the deck, and replaced the deck but fitted inspection hatches in various places. I fitted an additional bilge pump in the middle too, so if it ever happens again I can pump it out easily.
The difference in handling was amazing!

Unfortunately I took my boat out of the water about a month ago to trailer it over to Cobbs for its engine service. My van broke down on route back to Ridge Wharfe so the boat is still sitting on the trailer, the van is STILL in the garage and for some reason I thought the 27th was NEXT weekend!

Thanks for the advice gents.....but being a dinosaur when it comes to apps.etc will have to get my daughter to do it.
But surely this adblocker could be installed to club website to stop this happening to everyone who has had this problem ???
Or is that not possible ????
I'd guess its a free website, so it comes with adds.
I must be honest, I've not been on here on my laptop for a while but it is very annoying, but its not there on my phone ????.

You must make sure that you tuck the returning end back through the loop the same way it went in.
yes, definitely done that.

Never had an issue myself, are you doubling up the braid when you tie it?
Is the mono you are tying to, too supple?
RIve never had an issue till this last lot .... what do you mean by "doubling up the braid"?
You could be onto something because these two knots were done on the same evening so I might have missed something.

Id guess any aux engine would be long shaft (I know mine is and my boat is lower in the water than a Warrior 175) .... having said that Im with Seastart too so generally dont carry it anyway.
