Good to catch you at Ridge on Tuesday morning Martin, and see you out on the swash with Colin. We had a pretty hard days fishing on Tuesday, with a couple of plaice, couple of wrasse and a solitary bream. Im glad you managed to get yourself back off the mud rather than have to sit waiting for the tide to finish its ebb before very slowly flooding again .... And this time you told us ALL publicly that you found the mud 😉 . I hope your journey home was uneventful.

Thanks for accepting my request to join you Martin. It was a most enjoyable day with good company on a great boat, and the flat seas saved me any embarrassment of hanging over the side emptying my bacon and egg breakfast. Some nice fish and not a single dogfish! What has happened to the dogfish in recent years? Have they moved out along with the mackerel?

It WAS a fantastic game and well deserved result.

I completely agree Greg, Im on a number of forums for my trade and football, but as soon a Watsapp groups take over they literally do that .. TAKE OVER. The order of the forums disappears and the conversations I'm interested in just get lost in a sea of posts that are not of so much interest. I like that I can follow the catch reports or trip planning without having to wade through loads of posts that are not of so much interest. Incidentally, I don't go to club meetings mainly because I am in bed by 8pm most nights ready for a 4 or 5am start in the morning. Im an unsociable git too 😉

how is the fishing going out there Martin? Ive got a day off and was considering getting out of the harbour to see if i can get a bend in my rod .... no 7 year olds this time!

My adult son and myself took the 2 youngest grandchildren out yesterday into the harbour. For one of them it was his first ever time fishing. I suggested one adult and one child form a team against the other adult and child. THEY decided it would be kids v adults! Unfortunately THEY started well! With both catching fairly decent fish within minutes (of the skipper putting them on the fish 😉 ) Within 15 minutes it was 3 . 0! With one bass measuring 47cm! By the end of the trip (2 1/2 hours) it was 12 . 2 and id had enough of being wupped by a couple if 7 year old!

Id guess any aux engine would be long shaft (I know mine is and my boat is lower in the water than a Warrior 175) .... having said that Im with Seastart too so generally dont carry it anyway.

Great report thanks Steve .... that's very interesting about getting the blown fish back into the water. It always saddens me to see them struggling on the top.

I was very tempted, but once the forecast looked like it might produce lumps in the water I decided against it. No one wants an old bloke bringing last nights dinner up over the side of their boat!

I would have sleepless nights if I had to negotiate that each trip! -

I'm having yet another garage clear out and have a couple of bits that might be of some help to members. 7.5k anchor. Small buoy (about 12 inches, banana for scale 😉) 2xl wet suit, about 15 years but never worn. Zip works like new. Size 10 diving boots Beaver fins Small dive gloves. Sherwood BCD Collect from upton. Donation to the club charity only. These have moved around my garage for years despite me knowing I'll never dive again.

its not common on "our" coastlines, which is why it's causing such a stir. "Only a few pairs of snow bunting breed here, so look out for this striking black-and-white bird in winter around Scotland, the North West and the East coast of England".

I was rather hoping to get out for the first time since the summer and join the RNLI flounder comp, but it would seem my youngest grandchildren (twins) are playing rugby at Lytchett Minster on Sunday so Ive been summoned by their dad to be on the sideline to support them.

Im in awe of people who can do this sort of stuff. Well done (and thanks) to Oli for his commitment up till now and good luck to those who have the task of changing it over. It might as well be in Swahili to me!

The hull looks exactly the same as my old Plymouth Pilot, although the cabin is definitely NOT a plymouth Pilot.

This one went back. It might still be swimming around.
