  1. great fish eh - just need the weather and the fish don't stand a chance!
  2. Charlie, Can I please specifically exclude myself from the bfm points for this comp. ie I am declaring myself ineligible for the bfm.
  3. something wrong unless you have serioulsy high solid walls around the garden. first time it will benefit from a period of time to find itself but from then it runs a faster assumptive search for satellites. 3 sats is pretty normal, 1 should be OK. 0 is extremely unusual unless high walls and stationalry unit
  4. lol @ markbee
  5. good on you Dan - my plan is similar to your original one but involved fishing too!
  6. sounds about right to me Kam.............
  7. lovely fish - we are so lucky in Spring
  8. Badger - isn't the Nab outside club waters? Are you in the same thing as Coddy?
  9. no chance Mike - I've a full pass so assume a collapse
  10. Adam apologies for the chainsaw reference - didn't realise it might be perceived as a hijack attempt. Dave Rowell and Duncan formally booking in on Phaeton for the 48hr comp - catch will be called in and
  11. ffs stop it - takes me a few hours to stop laughing after reading your reports! all the best for the weekend with Tommy anyway

    Awesome...

GMTV news this morning had an article on a 580kg Hamahead caught yesterday - this one was apparantly donated to a wildlife museum..............6+ hour fight.
  13. np re the cards Tom re the shoot I have kept out of it so far because dates adn availablility are everything! If I see you out there when we are I will pop over. good luck
  14. that's MMC or SD then; both physically the same size. available now up to 4gb; but that doesn't mean the camera will recognise it all. can give you a source where 1gb for about

    Awesome...

I think I would have started the argument about it going back alive if landed under the circmstances but hey-ho! I realise the issues; a large mako would have a very significant market value in Antigua from which the crew / capt would benefit. Somewhat bizzarre that the hammerhead was simply dumped...........wierd world.
  16. What memory format does the camera take Tom? If so what's the largest card it can accomadate / read?
  17. Fred, Dave and I will be out with a camera if you need one.......... you will have to get your own chainsaw though.

    Rod Rings

the obvious answer is to get a replacement tip ring from fladden..............you are on that so keep going................. the bodge has to be a single neat whipping of thread; not overlength! Varnish/coat to seal then, after its all dry etc fit the ring with holt melt glue in the normal way. Worst case when you come to remove the ring the thread needs redoing but it will met all your criteria.

  20. beat my day hands down crazy - nice catxh I'm just hoping the 3&4th are great weather!
  21. thanks for that Terry.......... wouldn't make a bad caravan really, just stick it on the trailer.........better than most caravans would manage as a boat anyway! anyway (in a vain attempt to deflect the attention elsewhere) at least Mike's bringing the bathroom and we all know Adam's famous for his floating kitchen..........
  22. Unfortunately I will be running Phaeton back from Yarmouth that day, enroute to a campsite in the New Forest............. the good news (from my perspective) is that I should be OK for the whole of the next weekend and fishing! I will look out for you all and hope the weather turns out great for all our sakes.
  23. I believe that this is another example of 'if we say it enough people will believe it'..........with a view to getting similar fishing restrictions on bass as salmon / sea trout etc personally that's not goignto happen and doesn't need to anyway. Bass, like most fish, need protecting at schoaling/spawing time in order for the species to avoid bieng wiped out for short term gain. Now, and probably one for Mike, what constitutes a game bird?
  24. Sry Charlie - it doesn't have the function so it would have to be a new thread simply asking people to indicate which they would prefer - having ginven options. Flawed of course, as you have pointed out before, because not everyone is on here! Martin's post suggests that you are looking at the Burnham match as well as the Bream - if so I can see why you were rulling out the 48hr weekend; it just wouldn't work. Running the bream as part of the 48hr however would be relatively simple and most would either dedicate a tide to them or even spend he whole weekend looking for that elusive 5lb fish! Surely Burnham could be rescheduled better to early Autumn on it's own? Giving everyone more time to plan logistics? Anyway I will leave you too it as I seem to have confused things - sry
  25. I would have thought that fishing it 'within' the 48hr window would have permitted more people to have a go than next Sunday - but that's obviously just an opinion. you could always run a poll on here?
