  1. I don't mind any location. Might be a bit of a walk from Weymouth Marina to the nearest pub (Deans main concern) Town quay you fall out of the boat into the pub, that's a plus but I know nothing about Portland Harbour and the facilities available there. Your call Martin
  2. Hi Gary and welcome to PBSBAC Glad you took my advice and looked in here. Unfortunately my boat is not trailable but some of the guys will be along to offer assistance re launching sites etc shortly. Most week ends in season there will be a few club boats fishing around the needles area. Coding comes to an end around the end of Feb so not long now before the quiet season and April before other inshore species move in. Any questions just ask away Martin
  3. Well there's only around 2 1/2 thousand inhabitants so we are bound to guess eventually Martin
  4. you will struggle to get the tent pegs in on the harbour wall m8...... Where we are camping we may well struggle with tent pegs.... guy ropes around flower pots is more likely. Marks Patio?

  6. Careful Adam......Martin will make you sleep on deck !!
  7. You are right in going with Toms method imo Regarding divers we have a few in the club that may be able to oblige. You have to weigh up the cost of the warp chain and anchor against the cost of air fuel and time to decide if its worth the effort. My anchor set up would cost around
  8. Look ere Dave its my boat and if I want to fart I will but others have to ask or face the consequences.....and stars Martin
  9. ATB Gordon hope you took time out and enjoyed the day Martin
  10. Actually it was suggested to Veronica, Wendy and Lorraine (Tony D's other half) last year and they were up for coming down one night and shopping the next day whilst the boys go play fishing games but times and weather never quite added up Martin
  11. Thanks for the info Tony Adam does that mean we will reschedule ours? Martin
  12. I shall take the new one Veronica is buying me for Christmas (Bless her) Also good to leave on a buoy to secure your berth in Braye. Hmmm he might be studying the star patterns then Martin
  13. Sounds good Tom I would rather fish with guys I know than strangers. Perhaps we could talk at a club meeting about sorting out a trip for the club. This would of course suit even small boats as they can trail down so almost all club members could be included Martin
  14. Dean and I will be sleeping on the boat, not sure about our new crew member yet, I haven't found out if he snores or farts louder than me On the subject of sleeping on the boat if winds are from the N/E or similar we may well end up in St Peter Port Guernsey. Last year sleeping on the boat was shall we say interesting with all that water coming over the wall. After 3 nights of not much sleep it does get a little tedious. Martin
  15. This years WSF meet at Weymouth is from the 5th June to the 11th inclusive Are any other club members planning on attending? Dean and I are hoping to be there again but maybe not for the full week. Perhaps a long weekend or so. Last years was an excellent affair but would of course be much better with more familiar faces. Martin
  16. In Poole the snow has only just started about 10am Martin
  17. That date is good enough to keep AWOL aboard now with a full crew. Fingers crossed for little wind and plenty of sun Martin
  18. Has a date been set for the main foray over yet? I would like to sort out whether we are joining in and if so will have space for 1 crew Martin
  19. AWOL probably cant make the late may bank holiday but will try and get across at the beginning of May. Not sure when the fishing gets going over there but may even look at Easter week end Martin
  20. Hi Alan Good luck on selling your old boat and may you have many windy days in your new one ....oh and please tell us when your going out so we can avoid those windy days Martin
  21. Yes, thanks Martin. You can keep your Alderney trip! Tom Chicken Martin

    New job

A man starts his new job at the zoo and is given three tasks. First is to clear the exotic fish pool of weeds. As he does this, a huge fish jumps out and bites him. To show the others who's boss, he beats it to death with a spade. Realising his employer won't be best pleased, he disposes of the fish by feeding it to the lions, as lions will eat anything. Moving on to the second job of clearing out the chimp house, he is attacked by the chimps who pelt him with coconuts. He swipes at two chimps with a spade, killing them both. What can he do? Feed them to the lions, he says to himself, because lions eat anything. He hurls the corpses into the lion enclosure. He moved on to the last job, which is to collect honey from the South African bees. As soon as he starts, he is attacked by the bees. He grabs the spade and smashes the bees to a pulp. By now he knows what to do and throws them into the lion's cage... because lions eat anything. Later that day a new lion arrives at the zoo. He wanders up to the other lions and says: "What's the food like here?" The lions reply: "Absolutely brilliant. Today we had fish and chimps with mushy bees."
