  5. Jon Just checked and yes we received your payment in Donna's name via paypal. As Rob says everything in the club is done manually and voluntarily so unfortunately it does take time. I will update your forum status now, this will give you full access to our site. You will also in due course receive a welcome email from bob F our membership sec but this may not be for a few days. Anyhow welcome to the club and enjoy your membership Martin
  6. Dave Well done you have kind of worked it out only trouble is the photos are now to big for the forum, this forces people to pan left, right and up and down to view the picture and whatever content is written in the post. When you find the picture you want do not open it full size right click on the preview size photo to get the address. In most cases this will be large enough although it will depend on what size was originally uploaded to the hosting site. Your piccy would have come out like this Cheers Martin
  7. See you there Mike Martin
  8. A copy from our membership secs email sent to new or prospective members: Martin

  10. Hi Ben Welcome to the club forum, now you don't have to look over the old fellas shoulder you can log on and participate yourself. I have updated your forum status to that of club member so you can now see all areas of the club site. Martin
  11. Dean and I will be offshore (hopefully) on saturday and will monitor ch6 Good luck Dave Martin
  12. Perhaps we should start using magnets instead of bait fishing Seriously though surely a fish has more of a chance if a deepset hook is left in than it would have after an angler has used his surgical skills to remove it. At least with catch and release we are trying to give the fish a chance to survive unlike the commercial sector that has to discard bycatch whether dead or alive Martin
  13. The constitution is for the governance of the club only so competition rules should not be written in there. Competition rules are normally written on the annual competition sheet although I think they should be available as a separate document and stored on here somewhere Martin
  14. Bad luck John what a dirty thing for a company to do to someone Hope you get something sorted soon Martin
  15. I have used Lowrance on a previous boat and found their kit to be good. When I first purchased AWOL she came with Navman kit that worked but to be honest I personally didn't like. The picture quality was very blocky (not enough pixels) I now have a basic Raymarine A65 with a ds600 sounder. Both are good units with good picture quality but the menu system on the A65 can be a little awkward until you learn what all the buttons do. The A65 has been superseded by the A700 that looks a good bit of kit. I would suggest that for a plotter go with a minimum 6" screen in fact the larger the screen the better, saves your eyes a bit. The sounder size is not quite so important however pixel count counts here to give a nice picture that's not to blocky. I prefer separate units as if one unit breaks you don't loose all your electronics but thats just me. I can see as a larger dual purpose unit doing the job but would suggest if you go down this route get as large a screen as practical/affordable. Colour or mono? no contest colour all the way, makes the picture much easier to see and decipher I use MES electronics with Matt Sydenham being the contact. They have an office at Salterns (not always manned) and a unit on the nuffield industrial estate. Chris at Greenham regis is also very helpful their in West Quay Road Poole Martin
  16. Dean and I will be out this week-end but not sure yet of what day. We will pick the best forecast although with a big high coming looks like both days will be good. Will make a final decision on Friday Martin
  17. Hi Paul Our flounder comp is for club members only so your friends would not be able to fish the comp unless they joined. Our only competition thats open for none members is our Open Specimen comp held in September this year. Re: 2 in a boat rule. If fishing a competition your crew members do not have to be club members however their catch is not counted. The 2 man rule is purely for safety and nothing else. Not sure how this would or indeed could work with a kayak? We have pondered over kayakers for a while and even asked a former forum member if he would be interested in fronting a kayak section of the club, he declined. Personally I am not against a kayaking section but am a little apprehensive about the implications for the club. A lot of the apprehension is probably down to ignorance so perhaps you could sell the idea to us Re: proposals. Any member can bring forward a proposal to the AGM (April meeting) You would though need to put if forward by the February meeting so the membership and committee can consider it prior to voting. Hope that helps Martin
  18. John Lean away I'm sure you will get plenty of help through the club Martin

  24. Welcome to the PBSBAC website Jay Kay Martin
  25. Rob Its a shame when something like that happens as it does totally spoil a days fishing. Good luck and I hope you find it, if not get cobbling Martin
