  3. It is not and will not be anything to do with the club Tom. As I understand it The Poole and District Sea Angling Assc have just asked for our views and input. I believe this is not even a proposal as yet. I personally would object on principle to bag limits unless commercial fishermen where also included within that. There are already rules to deal with RSA's that sell their catch it just needs proper policing. I feel a better way forward would be carcass tagging so each commercially caught fish can be traced from capture to table. That should make it easier to see where the fish are coming from and permit enforcement at point of sale, ie no tagg Mr. chef you
  4. I think a few people are missing the point here. Firstly if agreed it won't be a voluntary agreement. it will in fact be a local byelaw. That will meen it will be illegal for anybody to exceed the agreed quota/limit. 2ndly why should anglers have bag limits enforced on their catches when commercial fishermen can land as many as they like. Bass are not a quota species so why should we have limits imposed on us! Seems ridiculous to me that we are considering bag limits on what we catch when commercials who by default cause the most destruction to the species are left to do whatever they like I have nothing against fish limits but it must be seen to be equitable between both RSA's and commercials or it will be a total waste of time and do nothing but further the divide between anglers and fishermen. 5. Well done Charlie well worth the effort Martin
  6. Happy birthday Paul Martin
  7. Really looking forward to seeing that Martin
  8. SSR registration just in case you have to call into a french port, I believe you need it for channel islands as well but that said I have never been asked for proof. Awol is ssr registered. I also dont' have the orginal bill of sale from new but do have the invoice from who I purchased the boat from so will look into that. Also should your engine play up, don't forget a complete set of belts, filters oils etc for running repairs . My engine importer do packs of vary degrees right up to a transatlantic pack that I'm told consists of an almost complete engine I won't be taking that one. Martin
  9. Awol will require about 300+ litres in total in two hits Martin

  19. Guys some reading for you. Register your interexst on wsf and ask to be added to the private group where you can read even more. Martin BTW we are undecided how long we will stay, maybe the week maybe just a long week-end. All weather dependant
  20. June 20th-25th is the date for this years WSF meet in Weymouth Assuming the weather is ok AWOL will be going up for at least part of the week. Are there any other club members intending to go? Martin

  23. I hope its one of the flashy sports fishers, I would just love a go Martin
  24. Similar plan for me except I would forgoe the conger fishing so: Day 1 = Trip over planned to fish wrecks on way. Assuming no engine probs this year onto Casquest banks for flatties. into port for wash and brush up then pub (thats Deans idea ) Day 2 = Banks for flatties and bass end of day same as day 1 (so long as day 1 wasn't too messy ) Day 3 = Flatfish and Bass eve similar Day 4 = Maybe tope + Hurd deeps and wrecks on the way home or if the rips are fishing maybe a trip there then home I would like to try the inshore mark for light line Pollock but this is tide and weather dependant> I believe the ebb is best for this? is that correct Fueling up would be undertaken as and when Martin
  25. Paul i belive there is no alongside petrol facility so refueling will have to be done via jerry cans and the nearest garage. Might be a job for the local taxi or maybe Mark @ Alderney angling could help out? Martin
