    Hello

Hi Mike Don't ask me about fishing I'm to busy keeping this lot in check Welcome to the crazy house which just happens to be a part of the best small boat A/C by far Martin
  7. Hi Tom Sorry can't make 2morrow but would be interested in your thoughts on that posh sea food restaurant, often wondered wether to go there or not Martin
  8. Kam Yes I believe that Shetland did build the Dolphin Cadet for a while and before them Microplus Martin
  9. Kam Of all the boats you have posted here I would probably go along with your first choice. The Shetland sheltie. It is an old design but is a good inshore boat that was very popular in the 80's - early 90's Regarding slamming, all small boats will slam if driven hard enough but some are worse than others. A poorly designed cathedral hull is akin to putting an outboard on the back of a builders skip (well almost) Others are not so bad. All that said I used to own a Pilot 17' which had a semi cathedral hull and I loved it. The upside of cathedral hulls is there stability. Orkney 440's are I believe semi displacement and as such can give a fair turn of speed. Dejons have been around since I was a lad so their an old design. To be honest I would steer clear. They appear to be seriously lacking in the stability department with no room for the cat. The Dolphin Cadet have also been around for years in various guises but is not a bad boat for the size. At the end of the day you pays yer money and all that Martin
  10. Yes please Paul Martin
  11. Hi Terry Its good to hear about good but especially bad experiences of customer service, forewarned is forearmed. Glad it all worked out for you but the company really should have sorted things out without you having to get stern with them. Some peeps are sooo short sighted By the way next time you have cause for complaint you could say you use a forum that has at present an average of over 350 visitors a day and that one post can go a long way.. ..if you've got it flaunt it

    Help

Hi Phill Fishing is pants at the moment so not a lot to learn yet. As the year progresses you will see planned trips and rough areas discussed in the planning sections of the forum. Keep up to speed with whats being talked about and join the trips when you can. You would be welcome to buddy up with most club boats. Ask questions but don't expect the guys to give their favourite marks on the forum for all to see, PM's and emails are a better way to deal with that or use the club members only section. Another route could be to go back through the previous years catch reports, that will tell you what to expect at differing times of the year and approximate areas. When you open a forum most will only show the last 30 days posts, go to the bottom of the page and you can specify how far back you wish to go. There are 2.5 years worth of reading and learning stored. Shops are not really a good way of getting up to speed info. For 1 they have a vested interest and 2 most of them dont boat fish from small boats The advice given by Kam and Terry is good, get involved, become active and the rest will follow....honestly...those that pay their money and then sit back and wait for the info to flow to them will be waiting a long time Your part of the best learning tool in Poole and probably the south coast make the most of it Martin
  13. Don't worry about the launching or fishing aspect of the trip. The guys at Burnham are brilliant. Last year I was worried about beach launching my warrior 195 which weighs in at well over 1500kg I neednt have. You get your boat onto the hard packed sand which is suitable for cars then their club take over with the tractor and before you know it your on the water. They also buddy you with a local boat so you are looked after for the whole day. When you return to the beach the tractor haul's you out.. simple Come along you'll have a blast Martin
  14. Bob Mavericks pedestals are fitted exactly the same as Adams. Had to take them off a while ago, undid the screws tried to remove them but the sikaflex held them fast. Eventually got them off but that sikaflex stuff sticks like the perverbial. Actually damaged the glass deck removing them. So a load of screws and sikaflex will hold no problem Martin
  15. Hilarious
