Just be wary Jim - I think there are a lot of dodgy dealers who use that site for advertising and buying. Make sure the money clears before parting with her!!!
  14. I have a handheld along with a fixed VHF - mind you, I am never that far from the fixed one!
  15. Steve, I think boats often have their batteries below the floor but only just under it and certainly not in the bottom of the bilge. I know that as club boats we tend to go offshore in at least pairs to ensure safety of crew and craft. But of course, for commercials this is not an option (except pair trawlers ). For the cost of an EPIRB, I am suprised that more craft who head out solo dont have them. I woudl be interested in the take up rate for EPIRBS, but they sound excellent value for money. I have been considering a personal one for when I go solo, for
  16. Nige - "Fever" starts 3 weeks before and ends a week to go, so we are now officially in "Frustration"!!!!!!!!!
  17. Maybe with the short weather patterns we get these days, a 3 or 4 day weather window is impossible! Hard enough to get 2 nice consistent days together! Rob
  18. Have a look here Graham: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=61387
  19. Found it : http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/forums/index.php?s...c=11726&hl=fuel Seems like it was a faulty O2 sensor. Hth, Rob
  20. Thanks for that, I had missed the post originally and missed the plug bit when looking at the thread from my phone. My yam will tilt passed phase 1 (where it is slow / low ratio and powerful for trim when underway) , in to phase 2 when running on muffs or underway. If I recall Tomo/Alan had an issue with his Honda that meant he used much more fuel than expected on a long run in from somewhere. I will look for that thread! Rob
  21. What was the problem Graham? Rob
  22. Well done graham - interesting times ahead! My first thought was fuel starvation from blocked breather on tank. Next time, when hula squashed, take the top off the tank and listen for the draw of air into the tank. Had this on an old car of mine, the tank took a breath when I took the filler cap off! Rob

    Bonus

    Beautiful! (fish that is!)
  24. Great shame. I had read that the boat had a liferaft, and that searching vessels were looking for that too. I guess the MCA investigation may reveal what went tragically wrong. RIP.
