My questions were more directed at Martin and those that knows the rules. I think fish of the month is valid on a charter boat but I am not 100%, asking for clarity. I don't think there is any "personal exclusion" that will happen, it's not you it's boat related. You are the first part charter \ part private boat owner i have seen in the club. I know there was a Fred chap who left the club, but I wasn't around then and didn't know if it was because his boat was too big or a registered commercial etc etc. p.s. i know its your new baby and am not trying to rock her Rob

Only problem is that Rob Tompson will charge Alan if he goes out on her!!! Do you get a discount on charters Alan? I guess being a charter boat excludes you from club comps, correct? Does fish of the month count if you are on a charter boat in club waters?

Matt, I wasnt aware of a minimum landing size for cod. What Annoyed me was the fact that all the fish are VERY juvenile. such a shame when these fish are killed at a weight which is probably 10% of the kind of size that do make a good days codding!

I can't agree with you Matt. Just because small juvenile fish are all that is available, doesn't mean you should take them. That is the sort of mentality that has destroyed the silver eel stocks as they thought netting millions of elvers would be sustainable! So, they should practice catch and release or target something else. If there is nothing else, then go coarse fishing!

I picked up the latest SAN from Bournemouth Fishing Lodge and during a read I was disturbed by photos in there of happy anglers aboard "Sophie Lea" with 3 or 4 tiny codling each, described as "A typical cod fishing days end". None of the fish can be bigger that 2.5lb most look under 2lb. When we see and catch the big beautiful double figure + cod that these "codling" could be it is a real shame. Maybe if they didn't retain these juvenile toddlers their "typical days cod fishing" would produce more than fish finger sized fish. Would a MLS for cod or all fish be good? Do cod spawn at 1 or 2 lbs and these are mature fish? I just feel anglers could do so much more to improve the image of angling an help lead with sustainable methods and techniques. Rob

Does it have gps? I have something on JoJo, but being open pir's aren't much use!!!! The one I have uses text messaging for alerts and you can txt it to request location, speed, direction etc and gps/mobile signal strength and whether it is running on main (boat) or internal battery. The great thing is you can have it kill the engine with the right command and set a perimeter from where you left it. If it moves more than 200ft from that location it let's me know (the number of times I have motored off and it sent me a text!!!! I think it has a panci button and door open / closed alert, that could be used with pir's or pressure mats on a bigger craft. I do have a
