  1. What can seem like 5 mins whilst in a tussle can often be only a few seconds, but I admire that attitude Peter, keep it up! Oh er!
  2. Re-buoying off the anchor rope - I have often thought it isn't easy. Is it safe to assume you can just dump 100m of rope with a smallish buoy (my alderny buoy only has to lift a 5kg anchor and similar weight chain) and you "should" be abel to recover it on your return. Assuming it hasnt been pulled under by the tow on the 100m of rope. Or you have to hope it appears again at slack \ slacker water? Correct? Rob
  3. Nothing bigger that a lost fish! Any mid teens \ twenty pound Ray in tide with the wrong (whiting) gear will seem huge, shame, you'll never know! And that is why we keep going back for more! Well done chaps, Rob
  4. See the linked pic: http://www.lnsy.co.uk/New_resources/poole_bay.jpg The blue bit sticking out form HHead is the "Ledge". It goes for a few miles out to the Dolphin Sands. Can be 12\14m on the west side - rising to 5m on top of the ledge. Just watch the breaker on the ledge when there is a big swell, esp wind against tide. Dont go too far out and drift or perhaps pick up a pot buoy! Best of luck Steve. Rob
  5. Great report James! Will we see you at a meeting some time, not sure if you have been for a while! Rob

  7. Nige - exactly what I had - ask for the steriod\cortisone injection in to the disc. I had two, first one he missed the spot and it had no effect, second one, spot on and I havent had an issue since. ATB, Rob

    LHW Multipliers?

I fish coarse lhw, sea multipliers rhw & sea fixed spools lhw. Horses for courses ect. You won't know till you have spent the cash and tried. I think in the heavier fishing I want the handle on the right for cranking power (yes Jim, strong right wrist etc ect!!!!!). But for the more delicate / sensitive fishing, I would prefer to hold the rod (calm down Jim (and Nige)) in my right, such as in coarse fishing. Rob

  25. Bit of T-cut and some elbow grease and it will be fine!! Goodluck Graham, you should end up with something "just right" - new name!!!! Looks like a Wilson Flyer to me. Just ensure it has dry bilges, ESP if it is foam filled. Some for the old foam was absorbent and hold water making it heavier than it should be!! Rob
