  1. Jim, Thanks for not even attempting to take anything out, i all fishermen were like you there would be many more fish in the sea!
  2. Sometimes the wreck is just a silly little symbol that is lost in the background and most of the time they coordinates are wrong. Have a look at http://www.southwestmafia.com/forumswm/vbgooglemaphse.php Rob
  3. Happy birthday Toby!
  4. This is fantastic and sums it up: "The ocean is like a bank account," he explains. "You need to put more in than you take out. "You can live off the interest income, but if you start digging into and depleting your capital, then no one can help you."
  5. The previous owner should have programmed the MMSI in to the radio - I think you can change it twice then it is burnt in and only a dealer can reset it. Have a look in the radio - it should hold the information you are looking for. Also, if the boat was registered with CG66 previously, you should be able to find the MMSI. Rob
  6. Nice fishing and report! Thanks for posting Duncan. Rob
  7. Please bring them Thursday to the meeting, as they need to be engraved etc for the April Dinner Dance. Thanks, Rob - on behalf of Neal

  12. Did you chop the bracket off to save the screw Nige?
  13. I think the birds are heading in-land for no fault of their own, just the fact that, there are no longer huge sandeels shoals all along the coast which helps sustain everything that feeds on them. Instead they are ground up and used as farm feed and fertilizer etc! I remember I guy I used to work with telling me, when he was a lad,, he could take a net down to hamworthy beach and in a matter of seconds fill it with eels.

  23. Translated: If only Red showing don't go. Otherwise go (cautiously if yellow showing).
  24. Does it rev freely up to max revs (6000 i guess) when not in gear? Of course if 17" is the right one - then the engine is perhaps under performing, all cylinders firing etc? Rob
  25. As David mentioned on Thursday, discards are complex. Not catching the small / unwanted dish in the first place is the obvious choice, be it net size or better specific targetting. In waned fish will always be an issue, but reducing its key. I have a real issue with boats tha are allowed to fill up their boxes with say, small, haddock. Then ditch it all if they bring up a net of either bigger haddock or say bass that has greater value per pound.
