  6. Blimey! I guess this is why the CG66 system exists! For those that don't know, CG66 is a Coast Guard register to help them/RNLI/Helicopters identify your craft if needed. You upload your and your boats details to the CG website with picture, then in any event the CG can pull up a pic / identifying features list of your craft. It is an online or paper registration and easy to keep up-to-date. https://mcanet.mcga.gov.uk/public/cg66/ Rob

A mate of mine had a Tohatsu on a rib and it never missed a beat, I believe they are used in the far east where they get little service and are built to last. Worth a look, but you don't get much for sub 2k! : BillHighamMarine They tend to break engines so might be worth a call for spares. Rob
  11. Not for the first time!!!!

I doubt you will get an etec for that budget! Try the Rnli, they often sell of 40/50 hp engines that are maintained like people's lives depend on them, oh ! There is someone / site that sells them not sure who but someone here might. Rob

Charlie, I found the Poole Bait Diggers Code: http://www.pooleharbouraqmp.co.uk/pdf/bait_digging.pdf From Poole Harbour Aquatic Management Plan website: http://www.pooleharbouraqmp.co.uk/publications.html

    Repair of Penn 525 Mag

No doubt Paul but like most local places they open m-f 9-5 which is no use to most of the working population!
  20. @ MW - no, fraid not - this is a boat Open and not Kayak. @ Jim - cheers mate!
  21. Lead by example, practice what you preach and not do as I say not as I do! We can't request quotas and bag limits for commercials if we dont do our bit and take the high ground - personally if bag limits mean't that there will be mountains more fish and growing not just sustainable stocks in 10 years, then I am for them. If you look at countries like Canada and NZ who have strick limits, they also have great stocks of fish and superb sport fishing! "It is a well-known fact that RSA have a very small impact on the overall stock" - are there scientific papers? If so I woudl be interested in seeing them. Rob
  22. Mike, that is under discussion. I guess the only upside of say 33% and in the harbour is the fish don't have to travel so far, and can be released back in to the harbour. We have to be mindfull that what ever min % chosen, the fish are still above legal minimums! Rob
  23. I have a couple of Penn 525 Mag Slidy reels and one is as rough as a badger a&%e, so I decided to fix it and ensued on a hunt for new bearings. Ebay was my first call and I found a pair of new spool bearings at a reasonable price and great service - seller astonlincoln. I then found there was a bearing that sits over the shaft of the spool and is pressed in to the frame, on further research this is a new frame!!!
  24. Neal - we need to fish it and there will always be a conflict with something I'm afraid.
  25. All, Once again we have bad weather on a good tide! What has happend to this Autumn!? Please show your support and come win something!!! To b fished inside Poole Harbour should it blow again!!! Thanks Rob
