    Stolen Trailer

Great idea with the number punch idea - i'm goning to borrow some from work tomorrow! My trailer had the previous name of the boat painted on it in numerous places - this could put someone off. Rob
  2. Good to meet you guys on Thursday - please forgive my remembering of names - with boat name, forum name and actual name I have my work cut out! Got out on the water today on JoJo - met up with Paul D on Neo in the ledge carpark. Only fishing for a couple of hours and a lone mackerel for my efforts! Saw a couple of fools on Wick slipway this morning - one guy trying to launch a big wake-style boat had a flat battery onboard so went to pull the craft on trailer back out of the water, I mentioned to him as he started up the slope he hadn't attached the boat to his trailer - not for the want of seeing a beached wake boat but I fancied retreiving my boat later so thought I would speak out. Also the water skier in a little fletcher at the slip who was in such a hurry to retreive his boat he could no longer drive! No surprise he was in a hurry as his engine had stopped due to overheating and the boat was sinking! He got it out and removed the bung as I got in to JoJo, I attached my FFinder, GPS, attached all 5 seat cusions, filed away my lunch, fishing gear and everything else on board (must have been 6 or 7 minutes) and as I departed water was still pouring from his bung. I think this guy was luck to salvage it - I might have let it sink and claim on insurance!! Also there was the guy who has to reverse had and hit the brakes to launch in an impressive and idiotic way, saw him retrieve with the same stlye and precision, I think he was showing off to his son, nice another idiot in training!! I am thinking of a new TV show with footage from slipways, the nautical version of You've been framed could be called "Slipway Idiot Idol". Oh well, a good day out and some nice weather, what more can I ask for.

I must get you guys to show me how this is done sometime - I would like to consider getting the gear myself but I am very limited on space. Rob

    Tripping An Anchor

I fished Saturday on the Ledge and was lucky to not have too much of a problem retreiving my anchor though I thought for a minute it was stuck fast. Can I trip a Danforth style anchor? I am assuming not as you can't gurantee which way up it will settle unless I fix it one way? Last question - how many normal 3mm wide zip ties do you usually use - to save me time testing my pulling power!!?!!?
  5. I have been looking for Bearing Savers for my Peak Axle on Admiral trailer for some time (Peak Hub with 5.5" PDC and 51mm grease cap - lots of other savers are 50mm for Indespension). I have eventually found them from........Peak Trailers!! @
  6. Great service from A2A4.co.uk - ordered Tuesday night arrived Thursday. Rob

    Fast Fisher

I guess this would get you out to your marks in a timely fashion!!
  8. I had a Turning Point Aluminium prop on my 2003 Johnson 2-stroke attached to my Dell Quay Eurosport 13 (boy did that fly!). The Idea of having a a seperate centre core and blades is good - therefore though it was
  9. Hi, Just thought I would let you guys know that I have ordered some stainless bits from this guy: http://www.a2a4.co.uk based in Southampton. I neede some big washers and split pins which hold the rollers on my trailer - Admiral decided to fit plain steel washers and pins! The washers are 27mm centre 50mm diameter at 30p each - not bad for SS! I hope the split-pins will also fit my prop castle nut! I will definatley report back if the service is not good!!! Cheers Rob

    Test

Thanks Jack - think I might have to find myself some re-bar and make one. Rob
  11. Thanks for the advice guys- I have downloaded my membership form and will send off ASAP! See you out there - JoJo is my boat. Rob
  12. Sorry to ask but am I looking to anchor uptide of the ledge - ie in the shallows (East side) on the Ebb and in the deep on the flood? Rob
  13. The anchor was of the folding type - 3 or 5 kg - tripped? Is that where the chain is attached to the "bottom" of the anchor and plastic cable tied to the top - if you know what I mean? Rob
  14. It is a Terhi "BigFun" (what were the Finns thinking of when they came up with that name!!). I guess she is a good sea worthy boat, it is a thing of confidence I guess! Also I take my wife most of the time and she doesn't mind bit of a chop but anchoring when it is uncomfortable is not her thing!! Plus I have already lost an achor in the ledge - I guess I need a different type - any suggestions? or should I not be anchoring on the rocks? Rob Terhi Boat Company
  15. Hi - fished twice last week and manged two blanks. Hoping to make the most of new boat (new to me!!) this year with plenty of fishing - not the best start! I was hoping to find plaice off Boscombe Pier but spending a few hours drifting the only thing I hooked was half a dozon slipperlimpets! Tried anchoring of Fryers Cliff \ Highcliffe using squid \ sandeel and rag - nothing! I'm guessing from many of the posts here I should have fished the ledge! As I only have a 16ft open boat are there any more sheltered close in spots for the bream rather than a couple of miles out? Cheers Guys Rob PS - going to Padstow this week (not with my boat though ). I have booked a place on "The Blue Fox" - so far I am the only booking so unless others come forward it willnot be going. Has anyone fished out of Padstow before?
  16. Hey guys - We fished in the shelter of Old Harry in Shell bay hoping for anything fish shaped - after a couple of hours nothing. We moved inside the harbour, moored up on on of the bouys just west of Brownsea Castle, Again noting b ut crabs on squid and blakc lug cocktails. Oh well, it was a good day out on the water. Tight lines for 2007. Rob
  17. Hi, I am hoping to launch from Baiter tomorrow but am unsure of locations and tactics to have a good day. I was thinking of anchoring over Poole Patch or Swanage Bay? Any advice would be good as I am hoping to get in to boat fishing this year since trading in my 13ft dory for something of 16ft and more suitable for the job. Thanks Rob
