  1. Always check the underside of the fuel cap!:
  2. The prime wrasse: Fuel filter doing its job (after i wiped most of the gunk off): (the yellow crust on the bench behind was from the fuel bowl in the carb)
  3. So 3 weeks ago Adam had a non-boat angler friend he wanted to take out and we went west to St Aldhelms and Kimmeridge. We had a good fun day with some rays and bts and pieces. Also, did some drifting and lures chucking over the Kimmeridge ledges. Need some big cahoonas doing that in JV and 10ft water that drops to under 4 quickly in gin clear water! Anyway, result was 1 bass and a plan to be back! Saturday just gone - a similar plan was hatched. We headed west to try St Aldhelms ledge for bass, Ad had one quick off the mark and i missed a boat load! even brought one following my lure to the boat! Ad had a load of Wrasse, how we laughed! So off to anchor for thornies, LSD etc but no tope showed. Then, once the tide built it was off to the ledges. On arrival I was deployed in the stealth bass hunter (tender with 2.5hp) and off i went in to the shallows whilst the mother ship stood of in slightly deeper water plugging away. Anyway - the inflatable delivered and no sooner had i started my troll in the preferred location and directing then "bang" bass on! great scrap, i drifted on to some breaking waves on the super shallows but survived, without even getting out to walk. Unfortunatley, T\T JV developed a fuel leak and was playing hard to start, so that was the end of that. But, we had proved the method (and found the right lure). I am sure we will be back. Rob

  9. It used to be sold as a trolling adapter, so you can push the further down to slow the boat at tickover. I fitted some as "retractor kit" 10+yrs ago but had to get from the US as not available in Europe. great for launching is 10" water. R

  18. Hello and welcome. R
  19. I have a Turning point hustler, which has a brass core and ally blades. When replacing, I only buy the blades which is strangely much cheaper than a 'Normal' prop. The core is expensive over here so got the core from the US (suitcase transport not courier).
  20. Interesting read here: http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-forum/22884-stainless-steel-prop-vs-aluminum.html Just remember that the ally prop is the weakest link when you hit something. If it isn't anymore, where will that force go? Gearbox? Also you will need to drop pitch etc. Some of the raider guys had joy with 4 blade ally props, but, you may already have that, doesn't help if you clonk it mind! R

Be careful as high pressure can take a foot+ off the top of the tide. And of course and hour before a spring tide low is very different to a hour before a neap low (and the pressure). But you will soon learn with the old, dink prop method! Welcome. Watch out for the beerpans too! R
