  6. Belated birthday wishes!
  7. Hello and welcome. R
  8. I have a Turning point hustler, which has a brass core and ally blades. When replacing, I only buy the blades which is strangely much cheaper than a 'Normal' prop. The core is expensive over here so got the core from the US (suitcase transport not courier).
  9. Interesting read here: http://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-forum/22884-stainless-steel-prop-vs-aluminum.html Just remember that the ally prop is the weakest link when you hit something. If it isn't anymore, where will that force go? Gearbox? Also you will need to drop pitch etc. Some of the raider guys had joy with 4 blade ally props, but, you may already have that, doesn't help if you clonk it mind! R

Be careful as high pressure can take a foot+ off the top of the tide. And of course and hour before a spring tide low is very different to a hour before a neap low (and the pressure). But you will soon learn with the old, dink prop method! Welcome. Watch out for the beerpans too! R
  11. The above AquaFish is a copy of JV1 - apparently the guy who built that had previously previously had JV2 before we ripped her apart. Although that one looks liek it is on a Duo as opposed to JV1 who was on a single. R
  12. I don't believe so but Ad can confirm!
  13. I'd buy this:

Depending on brand - they often do a motorboke version that is alot cheaper. I get many of my Yamaha bits from Cresent Yamaha in Charminster. The gaskets & o-rings etc for my carb servicing were the last things i ordered. I have a spare rectifier as once i thought i needed to replace mine - i got it cheap second hand\refurb motorbike one - only difference i can see was the connectors use slightly different plugs. I think they can go if you run the engine without the battery connected - any chance your main battery switch closed \ failed or terminal connector lost conection? R
  15. Guessing the numbers: £15k for new setup A few quid for old engine and hopefully add some value to your craft. Net cost £8000 and saving 45% on fuel means you need to spend £17,777 on fuel before you start saving. That is quite a bit. R
  16. Found the old post: " If its a major fault they address the problem on next years model....I know this from first hand experience ...ask PaulD , we nearly run out of fuel coming back from Alderney(luckily we had spare tanks on board) all because of a known fault on the o2 sensor on my Honda 225!!! which costs about 600 to repair when the punter realises! but was done under warranty "
  17. Why not get a newer outboard for better fuel economy? Tomo had a 225 on his pirate and that I believe was ok on fuel. Except when he had a problem with some fuel regulator, it then drank like a fish. R
  18. When have any 2 tides been the same?!?!?
  19. What boat is it and what outboard? Pics? R
  20. You boys and your oversized boats!!!!!!!
