  1. Having taken JoJo to Devon on our usual holiday in May, I had some running niggles. I ended up able to happily use her daily (if not more) during the week but was needing to get to the bottom of the issues. Firstly, the pickup pipe in the Yamaha tank was bent, so I concluded it folded and closed more under high speed manoeuvres. This was priced by cutting out the bend and testing with a full tank, job done. Popped to the local Yam dealer and picked up a new pickup (£15 or something). Secondly, a couple of the plugs looked too rich, so backed off the tickover mixture and all we ok but not perfect. With an impending trip coming up (fingers crossed) I thought I'd get this sorted, or at least try.

    Lost coolant

We had a leak on a water pump on a car, but only when a full temperature would it leak from the seal around the pump. So it was fine on short trips but after a long trip the coolant level would drop. Again, running on the drive, fine, until I left it to run until the fan came on, bingo, a tiny leak around the water pump seal, as soon as the engine cooled a little the leak stopped. Sounds like purbeck have sensible plan. R

  6. 13 September 2016, Reporting Suspicious Activity Southern IFCA (SIFCA) utilises a risk based approach to prioritise its compliance and enforcement activities and intelligence that is collated from a variety of sources that reflect current issues ‘on the ground’ that together maximise the efficient use of resources and help to reduce crime. As the additional ‘eyes and ears’ of law enforcement, you can report suspected illegal fishing activity within the District by contacting SIFCA on 01202 721373 or by sending an email to enquiries@southern-ifca.gov.uk Our Fisheries Officers will be pleased to assist with clarification of the rules and follow up on reports of suspicious activity. Details of the local rules and regulations can be found on our websitehttp://www.southern-ifca.gov.uk/byelaws Other national regulations also apply, for example, the current bass nursery area legislation that can be found herehttp://www.southern-ifca.gov.uk/other-regulations Fishing rules are often complicated and this reflects the differing management needs of the areas to which they apply. For example some forms of netting traditionally take place close to the shore and are perfectly legitimate. Although we encourage the reporting of illegal activity, members of the public ashore (or in boats) in the interest of safety should not put themselves or others at risk or harass commercial fishermen engaged in fishing and if in doubt give us a call for clarification.

  10. Tom from Christchurch Angling Centre at last months club meeting advised the issue is that we can only get squid imported from approved fisheries (?) that are cleared for human consumption. I think he said this for us is California and at the moment they have a shortage. Go to France and I think you can buy what you want. Cuttlefish is not so regulated and Tom gets in fantastic whole bait size ones. He buys in bulk and packs and freezes them from fresh. Contact him, advise you are part of the club and get a price for a bulk purchase! Rob

    Alderney 2016

Plus tips on making footage are prob more important before you go Charlie. Key thing is try and make slow if moving \ rotating, steady lengthy shots. nothing worse than having loads of 10 second shots to stitch together. R

  23. Is there a difference where Graham & Gaffa are using petrol as opposed to diesel?
  24. i see it looses 5% of your fuel capacity so fairly insignificant - you have baffles built in to the new tanks you propose to have made. At £100 per block and you might need say 7 (guess 200 lite tank) - that is a lot of cash, where in built baffles seem ok for the majority! They seem to use\d this on F1 fuel cells, sorry, to advise but the Pirate ain't an F1 car or P1 offshore racer (well not quite anyway)! R
  25. He has a Pirate 21, a laser and a Wilson Flyer. And he is happy his sold his little RIB recently too!!!
