  3. Adam, AJ, BobF and I had a day out on JV today. The original plan was bassing, but the forecast didn't hold as good as some forecasts had shown. It was windy getting macs, really windy. But we fished on, until the heavens opened and lightening was seen in the clouds! We sat in JV for a good 15 mins with a torrential downpour hitting the deck. After the we fished on, AJ had a bass and then it went quiet. The wind dropped and we headed out beyond shelter of the land. I picked up a bass first drift and that was then it. We headed for shelter to get the lunch in the oven. However, Shelter was not as expected and we swung on the anchor and it was a little sloppy. We headed back to Poole bay and had a delicious lunch. We followed this by a move closer inshore, land some small eyes on the boat and watching some plane action. In sunshine with the cabin sheltering is from a wind touching F5. Sea Vixen, Chinook, Vulcan, Red Arrows, Typhoon to name a few. Headed in and saw Kingfisher trying his luck. Back at PBM and had an immediate lift out, leaving us to clean and wash down on terra firma. Once the skipper was happy with the level of cleanliness, we made our way back home.
  4. Noubt wrong with a power nap, I had a couple today, one going back up the drift!!!
  5. Well only £4.99 or less of fancying!!! I expect due to limited parking they have to restrict it, plus this money would no doubt be going directly to charity funds. I think a tenner for those who don't want to walk a few yards would be acceptable.

  11. Just save the film as "PC 720" as 1080 is a bit big and the default is rubbish!
  12. I use MS Movie maker. Not the best but free in MS 2012 Essentials pack ( if you install choose advanced and untick all but moviemaker).

    Tuna off Cornwall

Mike, have a read of the Marine Discovery Cornwall page in the link above. There is a suggestion that Tuna has a quota in Europe, but the UK doesn't take any of it, so to land one you would need to gain some of that quota, including recreationals. Even though it cant be sold. I assume a Bonito if landed whilst feathering would be ok as they are Mackerel family not Tuna.
  14. Yes Dave, my thoughts - a great tool to learn an adapt. I always assumed and so did others i have spoken to that the bait was fluttering between the lead and the boat, but in most cases i have seen, the boat on the surface is moving quite a bit faster than the bottom layer of water, Oh, one note, is that live Weaver bait has a 100% success rate! (well, tried twice and landed 2 turbot)!!
  15. Can't drag it all the time Sam as it creates quite a bit of drag and reduces the sensitivity of the rig, due to heavier lead and heavier rod used. I sent it down to a mid channel wreck, but at 150ft it is pitch black! Unfortunately, due card malfunction, the footage of Nannels Pollack smashing my lure didn't come out! Which was a big shame as something bit my lure in two! (I am guessing a wrasse)
  16. No idea - but it looked like one hell of a bite on the rod! WaterWolfHD is designed to be mounted inline for fishing. It can be cast etc. The key thing is to ensure the distance from camera to lead \ lure is right and then lead to hook, to ensure that the bait is in shot. Those rays would have given once hell of a scrap and lead to thoughts of a 20lb turbot! R
  17. But its the ones without boats that can afford to buy the drinks!
  18. Of course, many member don't have their own boats, they are regular crew. We meet 1st Thursday of each month at Parkstone Trade and Labour Club - 19:30 for 20:00 - meeting followed by a talk \ discussion \ tips and tricks. Rob
