    Got the blues

Yes! Of course Jim! But she has the biggest bite!!!
  3. ......in a good way! Knackered, too knackered to write anything of use! 10 blues hooked, 9 caught and 7 boated (the other two were a bit big!!!). Manic, 8 in and hour, couldn't get more than 2 rods out. Some times couldn't even bait the second! The last one we picked out of a few that were circling the boat. We chose the biggy, and I threw a couple of maccy heads to it. Then a chunk with the hook, then all sorts of madness ensued! It was like mackerel fishing, just one more........ Sloppy seas, ok on the way out, then a squall came through and stayed! 6ft swell at times, breaking waves and 7/8 knts back in! (18/20 most of the way out) Blu steak and a pint sat in from of me, bye!
  4. Matt, that isn't an Essex tan on my hands!
  5. What happens to the rest of JV? She's only 19 ft in that photo!!!!!!! Actually, I know! My pasty was distracting you!!!! :0)
  6. Dole fins are dangerous if you ask me, my boat had them when I bought it and they were great until there was a swell and trying to cut across it they would almost bite and make the boat pitch. Removed and replaced with smart tabs, much more stable and instil confidence!
  7. Netted this to show the kids: ( ruddy heavy!)
  8. Nice big fat ragworm from Bournemouth Fishing Lodge and we used them all! I don't remember the last time I ran out of ragworm.
  9. So today was a fun kids day out on JV. A relaxed day was in order, so late start launching about midday. We headed to swanage for some macs, then anchored out of the tide near Ballard and more macs. Got jim excited on Madness and we loaded a few when Martin popped over for a chat. We then anchored out further for some rays, but the tide was whipping though and creating a less than calm sea. So we upped anchor and headed to Poole Patch. Non stop kid entertaining action, pollack, wrasse of a couple of flavours, scad, macs, bass, pout, poor cod, bream, doggies etc! One bass to Ruben was a beaut, that was kept no questions! All the kids had fun and so did the parents! Thanks to Ad & Rach!
  10. We heard you when you were 1.5 miles off Durlston on the radio. However, we could not hear Madness, were you on low power Martin? Glad you are back! R

  16. Is there still a map on the forum with basic marks? Used to be pinned in catch reports or club member only section.

  20. I have 2 transducers like Nigel. Think I might have a spare one of the standard variety. You are welcome to try before you buy (half retail cost). Or just try if you want! Rob
  21. You can go to the bar or restaurant if you are an RNLI member / supporter. They even have a hotel (the training accommodation used mid week) you can book for friends / family.
