Here is the Lifeboat story of that speed boat:- Lifeboat Launched To Sinking Speedboat On a blistering bank holiday afternoon Poole Lifeboat was tasked by Solent Coastguard at 15.10 (Saturday August 26) to a report of a 20ft speed boat reported to be sinking off Sandbanks. The vessel with 4 people on-board had got into difficulty when the lifeboat arrived on scene at 15:20. There was debris in the water and the casualties had safely made their way ashore. Two lifeboat crew went ashore to check that the occupants were all okay and none the worse for their escapade whilst the other lifeboat crew and RNLI Lifeguards recovered some of the debris. The lifeboat crew, that were ashore, spoke with the owners as there was an option to re float the vessel or pull it clear onto the beach but the vessel was now in the hands of the casualties insurance company so was left in situ awaiting further instruction from the insurance company. As everyone was okay the lifeboat returned back to station, after refuelling it was ready for service by 17:00 but then a call came through from the Coastguard to re-task the crew to recover the vessel. The Coastguard re tasked the lifeboat to recover the stricken vessel as it was a hazard to navigation. The casualties’ insurance company could not contract a salvage team to move it until after the bank holiday weekend. When the lifeboat arrived back on scene, with the assistance of Poole mobile Coastguard unit, they dragged it up the beach and then re-floated the vessel. The crew then attached a tow line and brought it back to Baiter Slipway where they passed it back to the casualties who were standing by. The crew then returned to station and were ready for service by 20:45

Hi Ray Welcome to the club Why not put her in using Davis's slip then it is an easy trip to your pontoon? Not sure I know where Pontins is Best advice is speak to Mal Thomas our Safety Officer and get on a Level 2 RYA course, you will also need a VHF licence which is another course, Mal can arrange these things. Don't forget your personal safety gear as well, accidents happen when you least expect it. Dave

Mike If you are having the boat stacked then fit the brakes and you can sell the trailer, if the boat will be sat on the trailer and used to launch the boat on the slip then leave them off. My son has a rib at Rockley and uses the trailer to launch and recover and I have to say it can be a pain to get it all lined up straight on the trailer as the wind and current can swing the boat about a lot. If you do use the trailer I would suggest getting some floatem poles to help align the boat on the trailer. http://www.floatempoles.co.uk/ If stacked they will lift and lower the boat on the fork lift so easy to moor up and let them do the rest. Dave

Hi Brian Have a look here https://www.smlmarinepaints.co.uk/antifouling at Jotun paints Used to use it on Lady C when moored down at the RNLI and it only seemed to get slim build up which washed off easily. As Charlie suggested found very dark colours worked best.

Hi Terry Prop Solutions are now in Sturminster Marshall but their website seems to not work. I would suggest http://www.steeldevelopments.net/ as I have used them before and found them to be very good and knowledgeable Dave

Jerry Just to add my two pennies worth, it might be asking around other owners of the same craft with inboard/outdrive to come up with the best combination for you and if they have had any issues. I had a look around boats for sale and you could be cheeky and go out for a trial to see what you like/dislike before going ahead with the change over
