I have found lots of these on Ray's over the last few years and pull them off before returning the fish, in fact I found one today on a ray, I will try and post photos later.it left quite a mark when I pulled it off.

Just to let people know that Felindre have lost Shimano and will no longer stock Shimano spares or service reels as from the 31th of july 2016. This will mean having to order spares from Holland which is going to mean extra time and cost getting spares, I will probably stop servicing Shimano reels until they sort out a UK service centre, so if any one has got a Shimano reel that needs a service get it done before August. Dave.

I remember when I was a nipper and I was out with a mate fishing in the harbour when we ran out of bait, well we acquired a dead seagull from some-where and plucked it and cut thin slices from it to use for bait. We even caught two gurnards on it, but never fancied trying it my self.

Hi Mark The weather here has not really been that cold ? and water temp is well up on normal for the time of year. got to say the fishing is also well above par for the time of year with lots of fish getting caught that you would not normally expect to catch until later in the year. Still lots of Bass about altough we are not allowed to keep any also all types of rays, spurdogs, Cod,few smoothounds, Congers nearly every other drop on the big baits,some nice whiting, still plenty of Flounders few Plaice, herring, Bullhuss, and the lots of dogfish. also the Pollock have now started on the wrecks with the odd one popping up inshore. The only down side has been the amount of wind this last three months which has made getting out very hard with just small weather windows with some trips just for half a day.

Was that the time the fish were caught ? if so they all seem to have been caught with-in a hour of each other.
