  6. Malcom de Jersey with his dancing ledge 4lb11oz Bream
  7. He went home lunch time as he had had enough
  8. One of club members had a fish of 4lb11oz round there yesterday. Plus at least another 60 good fish which were nearly all returned so it looks like it has really switched on at last. For anyone wondering who it was it was Malcom with the boat little cat.
  9. You got no taste ? works for Sturgeon although we never caught any of those?
  10. Well I drove down and parked on Poole Quay at 6.30 to wait for Alan and Hooky to come under the bridge and tie up so we could go at get breakfast at the café and wait to sign in to the comp at 7.30 all went to plan and arrived on our chosen mark off Ballard by eight-ish. expected to see a few boats and kayaks already there but only one other boat which was no where near where we wanted to anchor, had a quick look round and saw a few fish on the sounder ( Happy days) so got the anchor down and Hooky started ground baiting the area with Halibut pellets mixed with rice and some Salmon eggs (you never know might have worked) which Alan and I bought along. Well I would like to say that we then caught lots of fish, but in truth for the whole day between the three of us really trying we only caught 12 bream and nothing else not even a doggie. Glad we stuck it out as we thought about moving many times. Thanks to Alan for taking me and Hooky for making the tea and netting my fish. Not the best days fishing but got the result.
  11. Mine was actually 3lb5oz when weighed on land.
  12. Well I have now contacted Louis and the entry has gone up to £280 which seems rather high to me? With the bait and parking it is going to end up at nearly £100 per person so I am going to pull out, if any other four people still want to fish it I am quite happy to sort it out.
  13. Well if the dates suit we just need one more if there are any takers
  14. Thanks for that Nigel
  15. Hi George at the moment it seems you and me are the only ones interested in doing it ? I do not know what date it is on but will try and find out and see if there is anyone else who wants to do it. I will let you know.
  16. What a great trip, well done nice report and pictures .
  17. Is the club putting any teams into this years competition ? Bit late to bring up at next committee meeting so thought I would ask now and put my name down as available.
  18. it's weird I have caught loads over the years but can not ever remember getting any out of Poole before? Not sure it is a very good sign I know they eat all the mussels that the plaice feed on, although where we had ours I have never had Plaice or for that matter mussels
  19. we had a few star fish as well + a big edible crab, well done on your third place.
  20. Well done Fred and crew on winning . I would just like to thank John Stephenson for inviting me out to fish this competition on his boat .we never put in any practice but just fished known marks. We had a great day and a good laugh with John making us hot dogs and pork pie for lunch with plenty of coffee. I got the scoring wrong when I put a Goby down as one point instead of five and it was not until just before the presentation when Alan green happened to mention it that I realised what I had done, quickly got hold of Dave Wilson to go though our score sheet again and the extra four points moved us from forth to second, Happy days
  21. Just checked it up and it is a young bass. Well worth getting - Identification guide to the inshore fish of the British Isles, by Dr Peter Henderson not cheap at £25 but well worth it and even mentions the Club in it.
  22. Happy Birthday Guys.
  23. Happy Birthday John
