I'm wondering what an adult panto entails but not sure I really need to know 😆 14 hrs is probably beyond my endurance these days - half a day seems about my limit Well done on getting out - its cold at the moment!

Similar outcome on Saturday on the edge of the spoil ground (but no porpoises 😞 ) Lots of school bass in the main channel but nothing sizeable. I did get a visit from the SIFCA fisheries patrol vessel and had a chat about size limits, close season etc but they seemed satisfied I knew the regs so no drama. Nice to see them out though

Hopefully give it a go tomorrow if I get a couple of things sorted today. Will head for 50:50 or Spoil ground.

Skate and Ray Consultation in the Poole Area.

Good summary Steve, thanks Its great that anglers are now being invited to share their views whereas in the past we were pretty much sidelined but I suspect there is a limited window of opportunity for us to establish our role as equal stakeholders. These fishery management plans are long term initiatives and many of the measures are still tentative because the effects are not really known yet. So if you want to see the draft of this one when it is published email http://fmp@marinemanagement.org.uk to register your interest -

Thanks Allan I can't see anything on the MMO site about the Broadstone one so have emailed them to see if I need to register. Regards Max -
This was an interesting presentation. Allan's description is spot on so I wont bore you with a summary of the meeting but you can go to their website here which includes a trial set of videos. You will soon be able to register for on-line training to help in the programme. They promised to post a recording of the session on the AT site. Cheers all

2 flounders caught in Holes bay but by a seal unfortunately (sorry for pic quality) I was biteless until dusk when a few schoolies showed up but it was a lovely day - quite warm in the sunshine

Thanks Stuie. The chap who runs it has always been helpful so I'll probably get them there and ask his advice.

I'm thinking of upgrading the lighting on the boat from the original incandescant to LED . There are just 3 nav lights, a wheelhouse light and a deck light. Has anyone done it and what do you need to be aware of please? Do I just swap all the light fittings & bulbs or do I need to do something at the switch end of the circuit too ? Any advice much appreciated Thanks

Usual rule of thumb is to have a length of chain at least as long as the boat. The chain acts as a shock absorber so as the boat rises and falls it lifts the end of the chain (where it joins the rope) but leaves the anchor lying flat on the bottom hence still dug in. If you change anything in the setup and try it out its worth just doing one thing at a time so you can tell what is having the most impact. Good luck!
