  9. as all have said a hard lesson to learn ihave been caught out there once by the tide one of my fellow club members had invited us to go from there in our boats, so all preperations being done we towed two boats down there mine being a 21 footer launching was fine and we set off after lunch the guy was not heard on the vhf anymore so about five we headed back in , to find there was no water for 8 to 10 feet below the slip and as you probably found out there is a large lip at the bottom of the slip as like yourselves we found the people there were all quick to help and a 4x4 came to our aid also we found out why our x buddy was no longer on the radio he had gone home and not told us, but having said all this kimmeridge can be an excellent place to fish but no fish whether on boat or shore is worth risking your life for, and no matter how much planning you think you have done ,something can always go wrong .so my tip for the day is if something doesnt feel right look right head for home and go another day.

  11. hi duncan phiad marine also do sounder cables. www.phiadmarine.co.uk or com cant remember exactly.
  12. i had been led to beleive that you had to have an address in weymouth to be able to get a cheaper harbour mooring .also the way things are looking in weymouth they could soon be a thing of the past ,as it catches up with the property boom if you get my drift. i read a report about 18mts ago about some of the older boats mooring prices being put up so high that the owners had to let th eir mooring go.
  13. yes as iwould imagine you are delivering variable amounts of fuel as you go along. also they dnt like the vent closed on fuel tank
  14. have you tried greenham marine in west quay road believe club members can get discounts there but dnt quote me. hope your unit doesnt speak danish only
  15. quite correct a small plaque should do the trick
  16. i didnt know that garmin did a stand alone plotter. r u using the furuno to drive it if not i thought the furuno had a built in plotter any way ?
  17. i had bearing savers on my rollercoaster 7 and if i remember crrectly you just tap around them and they come out. if not im sure bournemouth trailer centre at ferndown could advise you
  18. this may help . if you have the original books that came with the unit it should tell you in there which wires are to be used to interface your unit with others . this way you may be able to determine which cables are + - and test it at home as someone suggested
  19. as far as i am aware that shouldnt be a problem keep fuel bulb at tthe back though and you might find a water seperator advantageous. lots of power boats have their fuel tank in the bow.
