  1. Great idea. Gets my vote
  2. I'd like to fish but the club BBQ right in the middle of the comp will hinder and serious plans. Will play by ear, if I go it will be Sun only. Not fussed what you decide prize wise. However if the club has spare funds, why not do 1st 2nd and 3rd and subsidise the extra on top of the £5 entry? The rod and reel combo would be good rather than money or vouchers...
  3. Just a slow cruise back then?
  4. Just heard from Al, they loaded up on the wrecks today, plenty of cod and pollack, with Dave making the most of Reel Magic's new speed to bag an extra few drifts and an extra few fish. I couldnt have gone anyway - but I dont mind admitting I was a touch jealous today whilst int he garden with the kids in the fantastic weather! Well done lads, look forward to the full report and more importantly - getting over myself in July!
  5. They have done well today. After a lumpy crossing and a poor day yesterday due to the wind, they have made the most of the better forecast today and whilst they haven't had the numbers or previous years, they have had a fair few doubles today, best, I think, to Dave circa 18lb. The wrecks look to be fishing well, so I expect they will have a bumper day tomorrow too. Fair play lads, it wasn't the call I would have made on Thurs, but it's paid off.
  6. Good luck to the boys who are going tomorrow, keep us posted!

  8. Hope to see her tomorrow. She looks awesome.
  9. Sorry, how many times did it post? Dodgy wifi connections fault out here in Gozo....
  10. I'm new to dph props but ours were black when the boat arrived, or at least going black as cc says his turn black after a few weeks or being polished?
  11. She's lush! Can't wait to see her in the flesh, and yes agree, great name and great graphics. I guess you need a big exhaust to let all of those gee gees out! She's going to fly!
  12. That's really crap Nige. :-( Indeed we had had a new boat built in the time yours has been getting sorted - Dave's new machine. Ditto of you want a run out in jv but I know from experience last year that it's not the same as using your own. Just hope it first take the edge off for you long term.
  13. Lol! Just posted the very same thing, you beat me by 2 mins.
  14. Need to double check the tides but I'm looking at trying again in July as June is out for me and the JV crew. No fixed plan yet just whatever works to get us over the channel. 1) JV - Adam, Ian, Alun
  15. Well done boys. Such a shame work gets in the way as mon to thurs looks stunning and would be the time to go. Oh well try again in July
  16. Especially when there is 2 of them!
  17. Typically the forecast has changed again this morning to one we would probably go on, now that crews have unpacked and headed home. Angry!!!!
  18. June isnt good for JV. so yes, going on the 2 weekly cycle, next date would be 4-7th July. Thats what I'm aiming for anyway - already in the family diary. Hopefulyl we will have Dave and Oli along, so 3 new boats.
  19. Breakfast? I'm off for a beer!
  20. Take a look at the midday update on Windguru - not pretty for Sat and Sun
  21. This weather is like trying to nail jelly to a wall - it's now looking like the trip might not even go ahead - latest weather update as of midday has Sat and Sun being windy. Mon looks like the time to go.... but most of us cant do that :-( Looks like a July trip then! Maybe the fishing will have picked up by then!
  22. I'm not convinced it will drop in time - 5pm would be the very latest I'd want to leave, with 4 being better - I have crew to put ashore, and will need dinner etc - not something I want to be doing at 10pm. If it's not dropped considerably by early / mid afternoon I think it will be a Sat morning departure - provided we arent the only ones and can get a buddy boat. After 2011 and with the new boat I'm definatly on the side of caution with this one.
  23. Bloody weather - howling out there this morning. The rest of the 3 days doesnt look to bad - but reminds me of 2011 - as Martin says a F4 on the nose for 4/5 hours isnt too nice. Its really borderline for me.....
  24. Steve, Recent reports are a bit dissaponting to be fair - the flats seem well down on numbers and the wrecking seems to be blighted by dirty water. I havent seen a single report raving about the fishing yet.... The weather will definatly stop an early start tomorrow - but we are hopeful of a get away Fri afternoon or even Sat morning.
  25. I'll send you some pics on Facebook then Sam ;-) The weather seems to have picked up again overnight - now giving 5's tomorrow morning - if it stays as is, it might mean a slightly later start?
