She's lush! Can't wait to see her in the flesh, and yes agree, great name and great graphics.
I guess you need a big exhaust to let all of those gee gees out! She's going to fly!
That's really crap Nige. :-(
Indeed we had had a new boat built in the time yours has been getting sorted - Dave's new machine.
Ditto of you want a run out in jv but I know from experience last year that it's not the same as using your own.
Just hope it first take the edge off for you long term.
Need to double check the tides but I'm looking at trying again in July as June is out for me and the JV crew. No fixed plan yet just whatever works to get us over the channel.
1) JV - Adam, Ian, Alun
June isnt good for JV. so yes, going on the 2 weekly cycle, next date would be 4-7th July.
Thats what I'm aiming for anyway - already in the family diary.
Hopefulyl we will have Dave and Oli along, so 3 new boats.
This weather is like trying to nail jelly to a wall - it's now looking like the trip might not even go ahead - latest weather update as of midday has Sat and Sun being windy. Mon looks like the time to go.... but most of us cant do that :-(
Looks like a July trip then! Maybe the fishing will have picked up by then!
I'm not convinced it will drop in time - 5pm would be the very latest I'd want to leave, with 4 being better - I have crew to put ashore, and will need dinner etc - not something I want to be doing at 10pm.
If it's not dropped considerably by early / mid afternoon I think it will be a Sat morning departure - provided we arent the only ones and can get a buddy boat. After 2011 and with the new boat I'm definatly on the side of caution with this one.
Bloody weather - howling out there this morning.
The rest of the 3 days doesnt look to bad - but reminds me of 2011 - as Martin says a F4 on the nose for 4/5 hours isnt too nice. Its really borderline for me.....
Steve,
Recent reports are a bit dissaponting to be fair - the flats seem well down on numbers and the wrecking seems to be blighted by dirty water.
I havent seen a single report raving about the fishing yet....
The weather will definatly stop an early start tomorrow - but we are hopeful of a get away Fri afternoon or even Sat morning.
I'll send you some pics on Facebook then Sam ;-)
The weather seems to have picked up again overnight - now giving 5's tomorrow morning - if it stays as is, it might mean a slightly later start?
Yes, good to go here - holiday booked for Friday - no the last minute rush to get ready... too many things to do!
What time are people thinking of leaving Friday?
All sorted now - picking up a new 12' unit tomorrow and ill install on Thurs, so hopefully I'll be up and running for the weekend.
Anyone want to buy a Garmin 2010c?!?!
Latest update suggests a 3 day trip leaving Sat and back Mon. Works for me as an option and has the bonus of not using any holiday - not an issue for the retired gents granted!
OK - so despite Steve's very generous donation - I'm still stuck.
Steve's card was a downloaded unit - which is effectively a one time use affair - done to prevent people downloading dozens of copies, it was uploaded with a code that locks it to Steve's unit and that one only.
The only way I can fix this, given the age of the unit is to find a factory downloaded chart card - these work on any units.
Duncan - any of yours fit this bill? I think these ones will have a Garmin sticker on them with the card area?
We had a cracking day on the new JV. Not far off a red letter day, we had a great average stamp of fish but didn't quite match the top end of Alfresco.
3lb was the best we (I) had, but I'd think we had over 50 bream today. The boat was great and the weather was lush.
Adam
Yup very borderline. If it gets a bit better it could be ideal, any worse and it's a no go.
It's been swinging about all day... Yes I've started checking every few hours!
Fingers crossed it starts to settle.
