  1. Magic Sea Weed... I guess. And so it does... Let's keep hoping it stays that way. Guru has it turning windy
  2. Windguru? What's MSW?
  3. Steve, whilst I appreciate the help with the chart - the forecast has picked up again for next weekend, can you get chanting again please!!
  4. Awesome. Thank you so much! I'm sure I can find a bit of software online to convert the files over.
  5. I've mislaid my pirk mould I bought last year. It's not the sort of thing I'd be likely to loose but I've hunted high and low. Long shot but just checking I'd didn't lend it out and forgot about it? It's a 12oz Norwegian pirk mould. Cheers Adam
  6. Next question is how to get the USR file data I have from my lowrance unit to the old garmin? Not sure it's possible?
  7. Thats excellent, many thanks guys. Steve, I'll arrange to get it from you next week as I'd like to get it set up before next weekend's trip. What an excellent club!!
  8. Steve - if the forecast holds I'm sure we will all buy you a beer when we get there!
  9. Anything that covers our section of the channel over to the channel islands.
  10. Awesome! Two offers - dont mind which - whichever ones is easiest to sort the logistics out etc? Thanks guys!
  11. I usually find you need to be 30 plus miles offshore this time of year to find clear water? Good luck - as they say youve got to be in it to win it.
  12. Anyone got one of these - it's the old data card style that looks a bit like a memory stick. Either to buy or even just to borrow until we get something sorted.
  13. Plan C no good for me. Plan D later in June works for me. I just cant do the 6th June weekend. Lets hope this one comes good - but its looking borderline.

  16. There are loads but fortunately we plan a total refit from scratch over the winter so all the crap bits will go and in its place will be a proper job, decent kit fitted properly. We knew that when we bought her. Whilst I'm looking forward to using her over the summer, I'm also looking forward to the winter refit. It will be an exciting project to follow, and like JV1 I'll try and track the progress on here.

  18. Try 800kg of sand which was wet so best part of a ton!!! The sea trial after offloading saw her nearly 3 knots quicker! The steering was a bit hit and miss until I looked at it today... And managed to get a litre of hydraulic fluid in the system! Much better pushing that around than air!
  19. Took a bit of ballast off her today.... Guess how much? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free
  20. Thanks guys, feels like the right move. Sad to see jv1 go after I built her but this one is a good upgrade, she feels huge to me but you soon get used to that. Spent the day on her today getting kit sorted and really pleased with her.
  21. New thread up with pics.... Boat name to remain as Joint Venture.
  22. Well after a whirlwind couple of weeks, I found myself in the pouring rain this morning waiting for a rather special delivery to arrive.... Rewind 2 weeks and JV wasn't even for sale! A chance email from Ian who had spotted a guy who had the big brother to JV and wanted to downsize got us thinking, as a larger boat has been discussed between us over the years. Anyway, cue a couple of rush trips to Brixham a visit from him to Poole, a couple of sea trials and some frantic email price negotiation, a deal was struck to exchange boats. This is Ian and myself's new boat.... To remain - Joint Venture. She is an Aquafish 28, with a Volvo Penta D4 260hp though a Duo Prop leg. Overall she is a cracking boat, and a real monster for 28'. She dwarfed little JV1 this morning. She wants some loving in the wheelhouse, but that will be a winter project to look forward to, and a chance to make her ours, with some big plans for a refit and a fancy new electronics package. Hopefully tomorrow a chance to get her out and play, and start prepping her for the summer ahead. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  23. Ahem - 2 tows - after rope around the props...
  24. I'm sorted with graphics - via Graham. £25 all in. Top man!
  25. Yes, a full coil - 220m, but for the new boat I'll use 12mm, I had 10mm on JV which was fine. I'd suggest looking at 10 or 12mm to save space.
