Well after a whirlwind couple of weeks, I found myself in the pouring rain this morning waiting for a rather special delivery to arrive....
Rewind 2 weeks and JV wasn't even for sale! A chance email from Ian who had spotted a guy who had the big brother to JV and wanted to downsize got us thinking, as a larger boat has been discussed between us over the years. Anyway, cue a couple of rush trips to Brixham a visit from him to Poole, a couple of sea trials and some frantic email price negotiation, a deal was struck to exchange boats.
This is Ian and myself's new boat.... To remain - Joint Venture.
She is an Aquafish 28, with a Volvo Penta D4 260hp though a Duo Prop leg.
Overall she is a cracking boat, and a real monster for 28'. She dwarfed little JV1 this morning. She wants some loving in the wheelhouse, but that will be a winter project to look forward to, and a chance to make her ours, with some big plans for a refit and a fancy new electronics package.
Hopefully tomorrow a chance to get her out and play, and start prepping her for the summer ahead.
