I'd like to get this also. I was considering writing a few articles on various items of tackle - but it comes down to time. If we could get a section where for example - you enter the name of the item, rate it out of 10, give the plus points and the bad, and then add comments. I think that would do. EG. Product: 30lb Boat Rod Make: Abu Conolon Marks out of 10: 12/10 Plus points: Tippy action, ergonomic foregrip, good number of rings, light, solid reel seat. Minus Points: No gimble Comments: The best rod I have ever used for everything from Bream to Eels. Highly recommended. What do you think? Would this type of interactive media suit the forum better, or could be set this up on the main page?? Adam

I am planning to organise a trail-a-way to the first day of the Dartmouth Plaice festival on Sat 24th April. Details are still being decided by my sidekick - Roger the Cabin boy (Bob) but the brief itinery will be: Leave Dorset at approx 4am Trail to Dartmouth Register Launch Fish Catch Plaice (hopefully!!) Come in and retreve boats Log our catch in Come home. I need an idea of what boats wish to come. Ideally the larger boats with 2 crew (3 in total) as this means we take less boats down. I wil then do some research on where and how to fish - although the Skerries bank looks like the favourite, with normal Plaice tactics. So who fancies it???

Just thought I'd try the tackle bargins link on the site. I needed some new braid anyway, and thought the stuff Paul D bought was OK, so Ive gone for 200yds of 20lb Grey and 300yds of 25lb Ghost green. We shall see what it is like 0 gunna load my new reels up with it. BTW: - Just bought a Shimano Charter Special 1000LD and a TLD 15. Sold the little calcutta (little small for what I wanted, cracking reel though ) and will keep the big gold Okuma for heavy work on the 50lb rod. Adam

OK!!!! I have checked your tidal predictions, and they look to be pretty spot on according to my calculations. However I'm not 100% familier with where we are launching from - but it looks ok to me. I fear however that we may be battling with the weather again. I have checked all of the weather sites I use (5 of them) and they all paint the same picture. Wind 4/5 Sea State - slight/mod at times Weather - Heavy cloud cover, rain at times heavy. It may change, I suppose we are best to make a decision Fri some time? Thanks Codfather. I was reading about these a littlw while ago, but didnt really understand them - now I do!. Also, if in an emergancy you call the coastguard and give them your no. they will then know what boat they are looking for. All helps in the quest for safety. I will be filling mine in 2day, i recommend others dot he same! Adam

Alun - as paul says, please do come. The whole idea of the trail-aways and these club events is to encourage people owning smaller boats or with less experinace of new venues the chance to try them, but with others to add the safety in numbers. I may take Tara - who isnt that much bigger than your 440, so either come out with me, or take your own! I know Bob had some terrifc cport last time drifting the Hood for pollock, and that is right close in! Adam
