    Lost anchor?

I keep reading of club members that have lost anchor gear.... If you buoy it off and mark the position, I'm more than happy to dive and recover it - provided it isnt a silly distance offshore - you havent lost it in some silly deep hole and you are prepared to take me out to it. I dont want paying - just a beer or two will suffice. Adam

  5. OMG!!! That is my new favourite!!! MMMmmmmmmm! MMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! I'd still have a South Cat for fishing! http://www.nordhavn.com/86/overview.php4
  6. I'm always looking Nige! For me it would be the black hulled South Cat 38 we saw in Alderney last weekend. She was called Greeta and was regesitered to somewhere in the Netherlands - yes she was a 'charter' boat but she was fitted out in Yacht quality. Dripping in stainless - 3x KAB helmseats across the wheelhouse and a 3/4 length stern transom door. GORGEOUS!!! Wish I had taken a picture!

  9. Just so I can keep track of who caught what can we start a proper list here for the 48hr comp? I'll drag over the results I alreadu have. Ive had alot of fish report through the forum over the weekend, but I need to know what fish people want to enter for the comp? 1) Nigel Allen 8lb 3oz Bullhuss 2) Colin 3lb Ballan Wrasse 3) Dave (Pirky) 10oz Mackeral 4) Gordon Moore 46lb Conger
  10. Thanks to all who entered. So we had 20 entrants in total. Please note that monies will be due at the next club meeting.
  11. I'll start a list thread on a new thread if that's OK - makes it easier for me to keep track of who caught what in the comp.
  12. Thanks to all who have entered so far. The comp starts at 4pm this afternoon! Have a good one, stay safe. It;s 4am and I'm off to the boat to head South! Tight lines!
  13. Rach and I will be bringing JV dowon on Sat for a cruise, a meal and overnight on the boat with as return on Sun morning. Might fish a bit, but it'll mainly be a cruising trip. Looking forward to it!
  14. I'm sure he'll just be anchored on a mid channel wreck for eels!

    Which Florocarbon

I'm yet to find a flourocarbon that knots well. Just lube it up and pull it up slowely. I use Vanish in 17lb for bass
  16. Secret squirrel!!
  17. In past years we have required fish to be reported by 5pm on the Sunday, however as we no longer have a BBQ or a prize giving afterwards, I'll make it a little more relaxed this year, so as usual you will have 1 week from the end of the comp to report catches. Record them with me, on her, by phone or email, or pass them to any comittee member. Tight lines

    LOWRANCE LMS-525

We have a pair of similar units on JV, also based at PBM. If he can get there either tomorrow or Thurs I'll be around at some point.
  19. Come on people!! Some of the best weather of the year to date and only 3 days until the start of the comp and we only have 12 booked in?? We managed 30 last year
  20. Just to update the list, it now looks something like this: 1.) JV - Adam, Alun and Ian 2.) White Magic - Dave + 3 3) Abode 11 subject to plans Cant wait to get back over!
  21. I bet you dont forget your health insurance this time Craig!!
  22. Bump. Dave and I have agreed our plan of action, so Wight Magic and JV will be leaving Poole at 5.30am and pretty much heading straight over, day 2 around the idland and day 3 fishing back over the channel. Are any of the other boats confirmed with passage plans?
  23. Just for those of you who think this is always won by the offshore boats - not true. In fact Ive been in Alderney the last 2 years for this comp and not even managed a fish better than 60% Everyone has a chance - so come on! get your names down.
