Just so I can keep track of who caught what can we start a proper list here for the 48hr comp? I'll drag over the results I alreadu have. Rach and I will be bringing JV dowon on Sat for a cruise, a meal and overnight on the boat with as return on Sun morning. Might fish a bit, but it'll mainly be a cruising trip. Looking forward to it!

I'm sure he'll just be anchored on a mid channel wreck for eels!

I'm yet to find a flourocarbon that knots well. Just lube it up and pull it up slowely. I use Vanish in 17lb for bass

In past years we have required fish to be reported by 5pm on the Sunday, however as we no longer have a BBQ or a prize giving afterwards, I'll make it a little more relaxed this year, so as usual you will have 1 week from the end of the comp to report catches. Record them with me, on her, by phone or email, or pass them to any comittee member. Tight lines

We have a pair of similar units on JV, also based at PBM. If he can get there either tomorrow or Thurs I'll be around at some point.

Bump. Dave and I have agreed our plan of action, so Wight Magic and JV will be leaving Poole at 5.30am and pretty much heading straight over, day 2 around the idland and day 3 fishing back over the channel. Are any of the other boats confirmed with passage plans?

Just for those of you who think this is always won by the offshore boats - not true. In fact Ive been in Alderney the last 2 years for this comp and not even managed a fish better than 60% Everyone has a chance - so come on! get your names down.

In order to give members plenty of time, I'm opening up the booking in early. Next Friday 18th at 16.00 sees the start of the annual 48hr specimen hunt. The comps runs from 16.00 on Friday to 16.00 on Sunday 20th. Only 1 fish to be booked in per entrant, best specimen counts. The entry fee is

Sorry, been hectic today and have had several texts and PM's re. tomorrow. Bascially JV is going out and has a space, Tom Smith is taking Illusion out but leaving later me me. Mark (zippy) not sure what you have sorted out? Paul Frey was going to take his boat Imagine out and would have had a crew space, but now might be coming with me?? Not sure - I'm confused!

OK Mark - I was looking for another buddy boat, but I do have a crew space too. I'll keep you posted on here. Your gear sounds fine. Whatever you use for smoothounds will be perfect. Adam
