Whats wrong with a BBQ onboard? Anyway BBQ / Cooker - whatever, call it a onboard social / party! Thurs is an option for me, but it's too early to call at the moment - forecasts only showing to Friday look good, so I'll be making the call early / mid next week.

Weather is now looking up - lets hope it holds. One thing I didnt mention the other night - boat BBQ? All being well, and provided the weather allows, I'm planning to have a BBQ onboard one evening. The plan would be to raft all the boats together, each boat looks after it's own food requirements, but a few beers and a BBQ on the boats could be a good laugh? There are shops on the island for those who want to stock up for it, but I'll be throwing a disposible BBQ onboard and a box of frozen burgers and sausages int he ice box.

Changed again this morning, so I wont panic until I see the forecast on Mon / Tues.... Plan B for me will be the next weekend with good weather. I know Charlie wants the smaller tides for the eels, but I dont want to look a gift horse in the mouth if we get a nice weekend? Anyway - thanks to all who came to the pub last night - I was surprised at the turnout! I'll get a final 'data sheet' sorted today with wreck no's, mobile numbers, tides and useful contact info and email around to all who are coming. Adam

Mike, I'm trying to find time to pull them all together, Ive got a mixture of email, posts on here, text messgaes and voice mails to collate! I'll get it done shortly.

Weather forecast: UK Day 1 to 2Day 3 to 5Day 6 to 15Seasonal UK Outlook for Monday 27 Apr 2009 to Wednesday 6 May 2009: On Monday and Tuesday it is expected to be generally unsettled with periods of rain or showers at times, perhaps with gales in the northwest. Temperatures generally near normal. The second half of the week will start unsettled with periods of rain or showers, but it is forecast to become somewhat drier and brighter in the south as pressure begins to build once more. Locally warm in the south, but still unsettled in the north. For the following weekend and the start of the next week conditions look as though they will become more settled again as a ridge of high pressure builds from the south, this giving some dry, sunny periods. Northern areas will be rather more unsettled with periods of rain or showers. Updated: 1111 on Wed 22 Apr 2009 Taken from the Metoffice 7 day outlook....

http://www.metcheck.com/V40/UK/FREE/14days.asp?zipcode=poole Metcheck giving 31 knots for the Friday.... It's a way off yet, so can all still change as we know, but the long range for next week isnt brilliant.

It's that time of year again - believe it or not JV is 1 year old next month! Anyway Porthcawl (who Ive been with ever since Ive had a boat) sent the renewal through today - but with quite an increase. I checked with Craft Insure who sponsor the site and they came back with a good price, beating Porthcawl. So I called the Porthcawl, told them the situation and they have ammended my rate to actually lower than what I was paying last year.... and beating Craft Insure. I know insurance is a strange business and the proof is when you come to claim, but I'd thought I'd share this with you and recommend Porthcawl yet again.

Can anyone who is coming to the meeting on Weds for Alderney (or not if they want to text / ring / PM) me give me confirmed numbers for the Dallas City and the Kolga? Ive a mate who is diving the DC this weekend, and he has asked to check numbers to avoid getting the wrong wreck? Ive given him my numbers for both and he tells me they done match the hydrographic office report? Thanks

Fingers crossed mate! You wont get a newer engine to do the crossing with! If it helps at all (prob not) but Salterns / PMS are due to replace a trim sender on ours next week - if they are getting tight, we would be happy to wait until we get back and let you take their time for yours? Adam

The fish in the picture is a ballan - 100% Corkwings are common around here, but seldom caught - similar for Rock Cooks - I see hundreds when diving, but have caught only 1 or 2 in the years Ive been fishing.
-
Andy, Are you still doing these? Could you bring one to a meeting? Adam

Bless - good on you!
