  1. Thanks Neal, I know what you mean as I had one when OOTB had a Sea Check. I personally thought the stickers a good idea and had them on OOTB, but I wanted something a little better than a hand written one for JV. I havent had a check yet as I know the kit isnt up to scratch. Will I have one? Probably, but as the risk of sticking my neck out, I have the checklist here from last time so I can see what I need - will a new check really help me? Anyway - back on subject, do you have a text printer?
  2. I dont rob, and TBH it only need to be tiny text - probably font size 20. Surely you must have a label printer up there in your office of wonder!!
  3. Best Wishes Paul.
  4. Has anyone got one of the small mobile text printers that do little vinyl stickers? I'm looking for my MMSI and Call Sign to be printed off? Thanks Adam
  5. Just need to order the stickers now. Is there a size limit and a certian positioning that they need to be?
  6. Joint Venture is now registered. Easy peasy and only
  7. Really? I'd fail on every count then. Not SSR registered - dont intent to be?!?! Last years flares carried as per RNLI recommendation until current ones expire For a long trip, at least 25 ltrs of spare fuel (so can you have white onboard?) What would you need for proof of ownership? What if you built it like we did - all reciepts?!?! Crazy EU...
  8. Same here - I think the usual for our type of boats is inshore waters up to 12 miles. Porthcawl updated mine to cover the channel islands at no extra cost.
  9. Hi Dick, First we've heard - I suspect that Gordon has arrange a visit with Craig but hasnt made it public yet? August? Take your pick really, almost anythign goes - but some cracking bass fishing usually. Number of boats - I'm sure we will manage a dozen or so at least. Adam

    Snow go!

Its been on and off here all day - sunny around lunchtime, and starting to melt around 3pm - then around 4pm it went dark and grey and we've had torrential snow for the last couple of hours - took a cautious drive to Tesco (about 1 mile away) and never seen it so quiet - about 10 cars in the CP! Have a meeting in central london at 9am so hoping I can get out in the morning!
  11. Many happy returns mate. All the best Adam
  12. I'll fill up once when we get there or the morning of day 2, and once when we leave I'd have though - so 140 ltrs each time - 280 in total. Rough guestimate. The problem we have re. beds etc is that it seems a way off. Those going need to consider that you wont be able to book a B&B the day before we go if the weather is good. You'll need to book now and cross your fingers. Mark is helpful in that if the trip gets pulled he doesnt charge - not sure about St Annes.

    Snow go!

Carried on snowing most of the night here. About 8" thick in most places. The main A30 is drivable, but only slowely despite gritting. Looks like more to come on Weds and Thurs....
  14. Really? So both St Anne's and Alderney Angling are both full? If that is the case, I'm not aware of anyone else booking - we are going to struggle. Camping is always an option - but a warm bed, hot shower and a full english is far preferable.

    Snow go!

It's been really surprising living out here for 18 months now how often we get snow being a bit higher (about 170 mtrs above sea level from memory on the satnav) This winter we've had the odd small flurry about 5/6 times. When you get sleat we get snow. Still going outside - looks beautiful though - about 5pm everything turned a lovely shade of blue.

    Pirks.....

It's a good idea Rob, I have a couple that I use for feathering - they definatly make a difference - (just ask Crazy Fred how well it works in Alderney against a normal set-up for feathering launce) For this use I dont rig a hook or muppet - the purpose is simply an attractor. I also make mine a bit differently - I cut the ends at 45 deg and drill the long side out to take a split ring and swivel. If you do rig with a hook, you'll pick up the occasional bass on the pirk - but personally I'd rather be a bit more sporting for bass.

    Snow go!

Tis' true that the slightest bit of white tends to send the country into panic, but to be fair we are not used to it and not set-up to cope. There is the other end of the scale - the guy who over took me as I skidded down the hill this morning - he was doing at least 50 on virgin snow.... twat. The local farmers have been busy all afternoon pulling people like him out of hedges and ditches.

    Snow go!

Still going heavy here. Just went to take the car to Tesco but got about 20 yards. So walked to the garage instead - plenty of cars stuck and sliding all over the place. I'm not exagerating - we have 8" in the lane and garden. In my 27 years Ive not seen snow this deep or heavy. Meeting in Dartford cancelled for tomorrow!

    Snow go!

Well I'm stunned! I'm only 25 miles north in Shaftesbury and the following piccies show what it's been like ALL day here: View from my bedroom window looking South West The Garden On a good day you can see for about 15 miles - today it's been about 15 feet! The only cars travelling here today are 4x4's. Even the gritter got stuck up the road earlier! Snow has just got heavier in the last hour, so another log on the burner and a hearly lamb shank in the slow cooker for later.....

    Snow go!

Nope - I binned my trip, but tried to take Rach to work and got stuck at Tollard Royal. Managed to slide car back down the hill and crawl back to Shaftesbury. It's still snowing now hard.

    Snow go!

Well thats the first time Ive had 6" in the morning for a long time.... Up at 5am to drive to Bolton for a meeting - everything white here in Shaftesbury, a good 6" of snow - and struggled to get the car out of our small farm track. I gave up shortly after, with the news reporting a blanket across the UK and getting heavier, Im now sat here with the log burner glowing away - a day at home!
  22. There should be Dave, although it depends on the make / model of control. Ours does have. Access - there should be a friction fit blanking cover tha pops off revealing the screws to the unit, however - again there are dozens of different type. Can you post a photo?
  23. Happy Birthday Martin!
  24. This is what i'd get http://www.brandontoolhire.co.uk/directory...p?idproduct=360 Rate per day would be about
  25. Good call tom - Gordon used to get ours from there too - if not free then a fiver for a huge bucket. Plus you dont need to cut up the chunks. Fishing the clips is ay enough.
