  1. Crazy. Fair enough - enforce a rule, but dont single out individuals.
  2. Dan, A 16/0 circle isnt that big - they come up alot smaller than J hooks. Adam
  3. Many thanks to all who turned up to support the Burnham comp today. We had 10 boats fishing - 3 from Burnham, 7 from PBSBAC. Enticer, Nipper, AWOL, Fat Chance, Sammy, Imagine, Makita, Heron, Highlander, and Lady Jane. The weather was superb, light northerly winds and glorious sunshine. The fishing however was a little slow. Boats made mixed choices, but most went west, either offshore to the banks or tucked inshore out of the tide. A real treat (esp. for the Burnham lads) was the presence of Trigger Fish on many marks, these show in localised spots most years, but this year they seem everywhere!! We had about a dozen reported today. Back at the scales only a few fish were reported but all seemed to have had a good day. Results: 1st - N. Flay (Burnham) Dogfish 2lb 1oz 68.75%

    Towing Limits

I did. it was before I set the trailer up properly, only had about 30kgs on the nose - all fine now, but at estimated 1700kgs, I wouldnt want to tow much more with the Saab. Mike - How about a quicksilver? I think one of the guys on here sells them?? .....lovely boats!
  10. Rob, What's this then? If it welds the plastic canvas, any chance of running my windows round?

    Towing Limits

Mike, The trailer gross weight cannot exceed the kerb weight of the car. So in your example, a car weighing 200kg, could tow a 2 ton boat and trailer - this is a rough guide and would need checking in the manufacturers handbook. 750kg is the upper limit for an un-braked trailer, after this brakes must be fitted and be correctly working by law. (Believe me, you wouldnt want them not working on anything over 1 ton, unless you have one of the huge 4x4's) Re. towing a cat B type boat. Not practical on a regular basis. OK once or twice a year i.e when the boat comes out for a scrub and clean, but I feel that regular towing and launching ends at 20' ish. Hope this helps? Adam
  12. Thanks for the support guys. Yes - Baiter for weigh in and dispersal after. Mike - We can arrange for you to pre-book and someone to take your fish to be weighed - the same goes for anyone who has a deep draft, let me know and we will arrange to sort you out.
  13. Try Sam Trickett, comes highly recommended, sponsors the club and is reasonable on cost to, plus is mobile so he will come to you. Tel: 07810 561520 (tell him I/club recommended him) Adam
  14. LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL... Well the upshot is that yesterday I had confirmation from Honda that they will honour a 'good-will' Warrenty claim for me. The boat is now back at home, she is going down to PMS next tues to have the engine taken off as a full re-build is required and possibly a whole new block and powerhead. Probably 3/4 weeks before I get her back, but will be nearly a new engine. Adam
  15. Martin - Confirmed. I'll call you later. Cheers Adam
  16. UPDATE: Can lighting strike twice....urm, well yes. Had confirmation yesterday that 7 weeks after reporting the fault, it took and inspection by ME to find the problem - emulsified oil.... Cracked head. Repair bill nearly

Rob, Try one of these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-Beaver-Atomic-ty...4QQcmdZViewItem Its what I dive - they fit the majority of faces and are very good value. If it doesnt fit, Ill buy it back off you as a spare. Alternativly, I have a spare here, new, unsed that you are welcome to for a tenner. Adam
  19. Hmmmm.... Option 3 for me, BUT.. Option 2 says that this will stabalise them, and replace 1/3rd of the lost income - so how does a
  20. Finally we have agreed a new date for the Burnham comp in return for our visit earlier this year. The date is the 9th September. The format will be as before - so meet at Baiter for booking in from 7.30am with last booking in at 8.30am. The competition will be from 9am until 4pm, with the scales shutting at 5pm. The format is best specimen with only one fish per angler to be weighed. Min sizes as per Wesses NFSA listing. Entry will be
  21. Thanks to all who booked in, a reasonable turnout. I wont be able to make the comp I'm afraid, despite some kind offers. Have a good day all. Adam
  22. Exactly...
  23. Well if a few of you regulars have been wondering why I havent been on the forum or out fishing much lately, I've been having 'issues' with OotB. On the Portsmouth trip the Honda started to misfire at low revs. The next week it was due into Poole Marine Services for some routine warrenty work.... so whilst it was in I asked them to have a look and replace the plugs (which is where I thought the problem was) this was done, and they told me it was running sweet. So parted with over
  24. This Sunday is the club's Lure only Competition. The rules have been put together to involve as many members as possible, and with the added incentive if a quality prize donated by Orvis why not give it a bash? The format is best specimen and the rules are as follows: 2 hooks only to be in use with the folllowing exception: 1.) Live or dead or indeed any natural bait is excluded. 2.) The use of multiple trebles are allowed so long as both trebles are in the same lure/plug and if they are, will count as one hook same as the pennel rule. 3.) The term lure includes lures with adidtives as long as the lure itself is artificial. So, who's fishing??
  25. Surely not!!!! 1.3mtrs - 4'.5"?? I launch and retreave a 1T+ Warrior 175 provided I have 1.5' of water!!! I dont think I have EVER needed to get my trailer in that deep. FWIW, it is usually harder to reteave a boat the deeper you have the trailer, use the natural force of gravity to center the boat - AND....save your bearings! I do agree with you on one point though - Baiter is crap!
