Help! My original plan of a trailer loan hasnt materialised, so I'm on the scrounge! Looking for a twin axle trailer capable of taking 23' and approx 2.5 ton. Ideally I'd like to borrow it for 6 months or so, so we can build the new boat on the trailer, but I understand this may is a big ask, so worst case scenario is to borrow it at the end of April for 2 days to enable us to get the boat back from Essex and craned onto bilge supports. We cant afford to buy one, so I'm hoping that within the 100 boats in the club I may find one! Thanks in anticipation.

Yep - Coleman Sportster Stove. Runs on 20p of unleaded for about an hour, and more than powerful for melting lead. I have a spare one here which just needs a new generator - about a fiver from Bournemouth Fishing Lodge. Shout if you want it.

Reg, I'd go new - knowing the amount of towing you guys do. Going for an Indespension isnt the only option though, their are a couple of companies that do good self centering roller trailers - Nicholson, Bramber etc One point to note though - make sure you get one with 32 rollers - Warrior only insure their hulls on these as the ones with 16 create too many stress points on the hull. That said I have heard and seen loads of 165's not on 32 roller trailers, but this is advise from Warrior themselves. All the best

Mike - I find that it is opposite to this, early fish are ravenous and slam the rod over hooking themselves in the process. Later in the year they become more wary and need hooking by the angler. I guess - unless you are talking about the really early fish - like the ones about now? True re. hooking the bait - I simply hook it once to keep the hook free. My personal favourite bait is half a big squid head. Cant wait for these beasties to arrive!!

Thanks guys. We now have a delivery date of the 30th April, have a slot booked in the mould so will be hull # 54. The boat is being built at my house - hopefully wont need a full shelter as it is only a fit-out we are doing, so very little fibreglass work - but I'll let you know Rich if we do need any scaffolding. Thinking as I type, it may be worthwhile building steps and a gantry if nothing else to ease getting on and off - I'll ring you. Name not decided yet - suggestions welcome!

Dan, As others have said - bout 8 miles to any decent wrecks from Mudeford. The ledge is awesome for eels, but you need a night session, a little bit of tide, but not too much and some chum....

Hi Rich, Simple is the keyword for me when bream fishing. I havent found complicated = more fish. Here's how I do it. 2 hook patenoster. Start with a simple barrel swivel, tie on approx 4' of 20lb nylon. Slide on 2 x size 4 aberdeens. Then tie on another barrel swivel with a clip link to the other free end to attach the weight to. Final step is to position the two hooks equidistant on the trace and then secure then with a double overhand loop. This is about as simple as it gets. I can re-tie this trace in about 60 seconds, making ideal for quick rig replacement. The 20lb trace line is tough against the rocky areas bream are found. Finally the aberdeen hooks are quite springy meaning I can usually pull a trace free even if it snags.

Not a big enough window for me to take a day off mate. Plus they are giving 25 mph+ on Wed and rain. Hope it betters and you get out.

Well, it's official. Both boats have now gone and our new project can be unveiled! Bob and I will be building an brand new Aquafish 23. Literaly days of research have gone into this decsion, not to mention several hundred miles. In the end we decided against the pretty peche promenade type fishers due to the lack of deck space for our budget. We also decided that an outdrive was required 1.) Due to the shallow nature of where she will live and 2.) to keep the top speed high. We also decided on a deep Vee hull to get a good all-round ride. The Aquafish was pretty much the only boat that fitted the bill. Finally a visit to Cair Paravel in Essex convinced us, as they are built like brick sh$t houses, we saw how they are built and what goes into them. Mind made up. She will have a Volvo Penta D3 190hp in her through an SX leg. More that this we dont know, apart from of course she will have a blue hull The order went in yesterday, the hull is being made to order and to our slightly altered spec and will be here in 6 weeks. I guess both Bob and I will keep you up to date through here with a few piccies!

Well the new project wont even be here until May, so I'm mega keen to go over, provided I can stow away! Missed out last year due to the small matter of a wedding, so I need to get back in the seat Shame its probably a bit late to book the Armoury..
