I've found out today the petrol in my tanks have gone off, they were bought just before x'mas. Had problem starting the outboard, however, it works fine once new petrol is fed. Do they go off quicker in a boat? I swear I have used and still use really old (over 6 months and have used petrol in a red can I'd completely forgotten about) petrol in my ride on lawn mower and it starts without any problems. Can I use additive to stablise the fuel to make it last longer and are they safe on outboard engines?

Weather prediction is just that: prediction. I wouldn't just trust onbe site over another, read a few, maybe take the worst case and base your judgement on that. I'd been out on a f3/4 forecast and it was more like f5 condition. There are many sites for weather forecast, Metcheck, Accuweather, Wind guru,..... If you want tide table more than 7 days, then I'm afriad you will have to pay for it. Site like easytide. All/most of the links are in the links page.

Now you mentioned it, I get that on Sweet Honey too. It's easy to turn one way and it takes twice the effect to turn the other way. The mechanicl reckon the cables are a old and probably need replacing but there will always be a problem turn one way but not the other. The only cure is like you said, hydralic steering but they don't come cheap.

Maybe he'd just got back from the pub and had one too many?!

If you have carp rods, all you really need is a set of heavier gear. Afterall, carp weigh in region of 10-20, and there ain't that many fish in the Poole bay that would be bigger than that, with the exception of conger and the bigger rays. Being a course fisherman I suppose you know more of playing the fish. I landed a 19 lb conger with what I thught was a 20lb rod and a small okuma 30L (I think), but later I checked and it was 12 lb, and I felt the gear still had some reserve.

It looks a lot like a boston whaler. I was thinking if the A post at stern is no good, how about a canvas top like the american put on their Bayliner trophy? It acts as sun visor on a sunny day, and you can put a radar arch on top for nav lights, horn, ariel and antenna etc. Excuse the rough drawing, hope you see what I mean.
