IMHO The right call made for all the right reasons and left as long as possible to be sure that the forecasts were as accurate as we could get. It has to be safety first for all boats and crews entering. Hopefully as many as possible can make the reserve date and we will get a much better weather window As Paul says it is our intention to stick to the 50% specimen size. But I would like to give a big thanks to Rob and Charlie for all the hard work and late changes to the admin in a huge attempt to keep the competition on track for tomorrow. It is a massive task organising the Open,and a hard decision to postpone, lets all try to support them in two weeks time with a great turn out. Charlie

If you go on to the home page have a look at the tabs at the top of the page, just under forums you will see Club Records These show Club records and specimen sizes. I believe that on the day of the comp all competitors will get a list showing these sizes and the minimum weight [50% specimen] to bring to the scales Charlie

Not to be for us today I had sorted the kit and was just packing the picnic when I tweaked my back. Now bored and frustrated sat watching the TV. In the interest of being fit for next Sunday I will now have to try and behave this week, Tight lines all that go out Charlie

Hi Martin Good luck with the sale mate, she is a great boat so should not take long. I hope that the reason for sale is good and not due to the recession. I also think you must be being a little conservative with the speed, she has often flown past us. Charlie

Hi Paul This will no doubt be a very usefull tool. especially to those of us that like to catch and release and others that do not carry really big scales but get a really good fish. Perhaps members could in turn help you, ie if you are after some decent pictures of the various species for your site. etc such as Or I only looked at a couple of species, others Members may have even better pictures

Perhaps he should talk to one of his more knowledgable friends in the fishing industry about what safety kit to carry. Glad he is OK though, his efforts in the Fish Fight are good for our future sport. Charlie
