If Wendy wants to stay ashore, I should have room for a couple more for the fishing, if they want to join us on the Sat. Leaving what people want to do as they head there and back down to them. Remember some will have the better half onboard Charlie

The weather at the weekend looks reasonable, so Dan and I are thinking of heading offshore on Sat. For a bit for a spot of wreck hopping and drift fishing. If that fails to work, anchoring the PM slack may be called for So far Gordon is joining us, but we have room for one or two more. If anyone is keen enough to have a look in Feb. You know the drill, get in touch if you are interested. Charlie 07887 794716

Nice thread guys Glad you had such a good day, and Adam had so much fun. It will help to get another opinion on them, when discussion take place at the AGM. Charlie

Already is Charlie wake up Martin Thanks for doing it even before I asked and the Alderney one pinned up as well Bloody quick this admin team Charlie

Not a problem Guys I have just made a provisional booking for the marina and the restaurant. both Managers are away but will call back soon. But its a long way off and the trip is weather permitting, so both of those things will be discussed. I have no doubt that this will be a long running thread, and that the boat numbers will change a lot before July. Can one of the Admin guys pin this one please, Cheers Charlie

The weather forecast and small tide is very tempting tomorrow. hell I can do Wendy's kitchen when its wet and windy Usual crew not available at short notice, but Dan and I are keen. We will probably head south west to a wreck. I will have space for a couple of friends, if anyone fancys a trip give me a call 07887 794716 Charlie

Good idea to use you own boat Mike as it will boost confidence for the future. Although most Training Centres use RIBs as they are a little more forgiving in tight spaces. The normal ratio instructor to student is 1:3 It gives everyone a decent turn at driving and allows for the sylabus to be covered in two full days. I am sure Absolute Aqua will let you know how they prefer to do it Have fun Charlie

I will talk to the marina and make a booking as soon as a few more of the interested boats confirm. Likewise their Restaurant. [And warn them of a thirsty just Perfick crew] I will also call the Sailing centre to go fim on the offer for the trailer boats. I am afraid those needing accomadation will need to sort it out themselves. But I believe Adam has a contact that he will share. Does someone else want to take a lead on some sort of fishing plans. I was thinking of a little fishing en route there and back (Weather permitting] and a little more serious attempt, while the ladies shop on Sat. I know there are guys coming that know the area much better than I do, don't be shy. Charlie

Great to get so much interest in this trip at last nights Meeting. I hope those that were able to get a copy of the Weymouth Harbour Guide find them useful. I even spoke with a few of the Kyakers that were showing an interest, from what they say launching at Portland is very good for them. While nobody made a decision on which venue. Due to the regatta in Weymouth I think that I will go ahead and book Portland Marina, Friday 9th July and Sat 10th Obviously the trip will be weather permitting. But can I ask those showing an interest to indicate when they would go. ie Alfresco Fri and Sat nights in Marina travel by boat, down Friday, back Sunday. while asking questions would anyone be interested in booking a meal in the Marina's own restauant "The Boat That Rocks" on the Sat night? http://www.theboatthatrocks.co.uk/ and can any of the local guys give us feedback on the place? Sorry if it seems over organised lads Charlie

For those unable to attend last nights meeting I have been in touch with Rupert at Mainbryce on Alderney. He has confirmed that they have no large events booked for the 6th May Unfortunatly Diesel Pump prices have gone up since last summer, currently 82p ltr, but he is offering us a 7p per ltr discount. Water Taxi will also offer a discount up to 21.30

HOW TO START EACH DAY WITH A POSITIVE OUTLOOK 1.Open a new file in your computer. 2.Name it "Gordon Brown". 3.Send it to the Recycle Bin. 4.Empty the Recycle Bin. 5.Your PC will ask you: Do you really want to get rid of "Gordon Brown"? 6.Firmly Click "Yes". 7. Feel better? GOOD Tomorrow we'll do Peter Mandelson I suppose it would work with the fisheries minister etc etc

Happy Birthday Tom Hope you have a good one Charlie Dan and Sam

In case you do not get the type of offer this Club is getting famous for Ie someone volunteering to sort it for you, for nowt. I had a lead made up by Marine Electronic Services at Poole to connect the two units, Icom VHF and Lowrance combo unit. I think they were just plug in's, 100% sure the icom was. and then some advice from Bob F ref the settings to put into the Plotter to get them to connect/talk to each other. You must have the patience of a saint Hope its all sorted now, ref engine and leg. Charlie

Wendy would like that, we spoke about it but did not all get there. She is happy to come down by boat and even to fish enroute. Then also very happy to jump ship during the day on Sat. So that we could have a more serious dangle. If Veronica and Lorraine etc wanted to take her for shopping and lunch in town, I am sure there would be no complaints. Just need to get the boat back at a reasonable time, or how will they cook the tea No Paul you can not tell her I said That Charlie

Joint Venture 2.) Alfresco 3.) AWOL 4.) Sweet Chariot 5.) Quest II 6.) Wight Magic 7.) Phaeton 8. Adobe 2 9. Chettah Cat Can not wait, Charlie

Hi again A bit more info to consider before we decide / discuss at Thursdays meeting. I have just called Weymouth Harbour They also offer a discount on berthing but only up to 10% for over 10 boats. Normal rates are:

Wendy threw a bit of a curve in last night with a "what are the girls going to do on Portland while you lot go fishing on Sat". Sounded like she would rather look around the shops of Weymouth. That depends what the other WAGs fancy doing, and if others would rather not go to sea on Sat, would they have any access to a car/cars. I think Wendy wants to come around and back on the boat, but would let us fish the Sat without her. Time to ask the boss what she wants to do guys Nobody said this would be simple did they Charlie

If you are connecting the two batteries together as one to get 12 volts, and you connect the meter where the +ve and -ve from your busbar/switch are connected it will show the charge between the two domestic batteries. to check each battery, a monitor would have to be connected accoss the terminals of each. Or a switch and wiring put in place. Hope that helps Charlie
