  1. I insured with Craftinsure for several seasons and having read the policy found it perfectly adequate. "Oh you better check their smallprint/policy" is a hoary old chestnut trotted out by brokers that have been bettered. Having said that, this year I am switching to Saga (you gotta be over 50) who's cover is brilliant and have no excess' at all, together with being
  2. I 'ad to gerup so bloody early in't mornin' I'd meet mesen comin' home from the night before! Any road up don't knock Jack and me We have happy memories of the days of long ago. In some ways I think there was a better quality in the sport we had then. In Cornwall in the 50's I used to fish with a then very modern solid glass 9ft spinning rod fitted with a centerpin reel. The only drag to control a fish was the pressure of your thumb on the rim. I still have a vivid memory of landing a 14lb bass after a good 20 min' of fight. This was on a day that my father and I caught several 10lb bass and many around 5lb to 8lb. As was the custom in the West Country all the fish were kept by the boat and went to the local fishmonger. 3. I would agree if one was talking about Micky Mouse clones. But a NGK-BR8HS is a NGK-BR8HS. These are professional trade suppliers and I have no fears about using them Rich. The point in the low cost is that they supply named manufacturers products at trade price and therefore avoid the retailers mark up of

  6. That is an impact radial star crack but it looks to me that the impact may have been from the inside. Any way the crack will be right through the gell coat and there are two ways of dealing with it. The proper (expensive) way which will end up with an invisable repair or a decent job that you can do yourself but will be visible if you look closely. Way No 1 Get a professional to do it and part with

  12. welcombe ROTFLMAO As a kid I lived near Bushy Park Middlesex. This had a huge American air support base. Their other base near London was High Wycombe or as we kids who hung around to cadge 'real' CocaCola used to hear them say Hi Weee Kombeee. Mad Mike PS thanks for the offer but Hi Wee Kombee is a bit far to go. But next time your down and you want to bring some, gissus a shout and we can do a deal.
  13. Has anyone got an old tube fender surplus to requirements? I am looking for one that I can use on the pontoon as a front buffer for the new boat. I know I could use an old tyre but I was hoping to be a bit more 'posh' . Mad Mike
  14. What a cracking good idea. Ideal for lifting part of a boat of a off a trailer to make adjustments. Mad Mike

  16. I have a crudely made but but effective 4 wheeled O/B stand for sale. It looks like an inverted T, with a wheel at each corner two of which are fully swiveling. It's made out of strong angle and box section and will hold up to a 25hp O/B.
  17. Skippy be an Icelandic dear and STOP BLOODY SHOUTING!!! Please use UPPER and lower case Mad Mike
  18. I guess a phone call to a friendly chandler will tell all. Mad Mike
  19. What a lovely 'boaty' looking boat. I love the workmanlike traditional lines of the Orkney, she certainly is a good looker. Mad Mike
  20. Is that trailer for sale or rent, and do you have rooms to let at 50 cent? King of the road
  21. Just the same as eating a Vindaloo then? Mad Mike
  22. Is that oil dripping from the gear box on the e-tec Paul? Mad Mike
  23. I hope you marked the water so you can get back to that spot Afishionado
  24. I think the second picture suffers because it is brightly side lit. There is too much glare on the left of the picture causing the cameras exposure 'brain' to average out. Turning the boat slightly to starboard would have improved the picture. Mad Mike
  25. That's great Martin, it wont be untill April I guess and it would be good to pick a bright weekend for the light. Shall we firm up something nearer the time with idealy a weeks notice? And as I said before the more the better because I think a flotilla shot would be the 'dog's' spectacles. Mad Mike
