  1. Another notch on the bean pole of life, I dunno why we bovver really Oh well might as well make the best of it and have another Prozac HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADS Mad Mike
  2. Far be it from me to suggest I am an expert at boat pricing, but I think this package is desparately overpriced. I would think that it would have to begin with a 2 for a start and even then I am not sure it would be in the high 2's to make it attractive to buyers of this type of boat. Mind you what do I know... Mad Mike
  3. I found out by accident trolling the web a little diamond of total trivia. The Black Sea Bass is a favourite food with the Japanese. The Japanese for Bass is SUZUKI !! Mad Mike
  4. Well I did ask earlier if we were going to 'do' the Canford Boat Jumble, if we were I would have bought any spare ones that the members turned up with. As it is to quote 'Snudge' "I only arsked". Any members wishing to know about Snudge need a black and white 405 line TV set Mad Mike
  5. That'll be good thank you. Mad Mike

  7. I'll get you at play time Mr Dorr Mad Mike
  8. I am on the fender scrounge again I need to aquire some cheap secondhand fenders. Mark my co owner in P of M 2 is a bit unsure of his boat handling and manouvering in tight places and is deathly scared of ramming the pontoon finger. Therefore I need to put a few 'defenders of the gell coat' on the pontoon edges. I would rather not do this with brand new posh ones. So if any one has any spare fenders that I can purchase cheaply please give me a shout. Mad Mike
  9. Great let go down and burgle Mike's boat next week. Seriously, Cobbs hasn't got that good of a security reputation, so I won't shout at the top of my voice you have gears down at your boat. It will be a delight to see you on the CCTV and You've been framed There are a couple of little bugs to overcome to gain entry Mad Mike
  10. Hi Alan, we met yesterday on F pontoon. 'Mature years'!!! You aint seen nothing yet mate. Our young whippersnappers are in their 50's! Fishing ..... More anglers are caught by fishing tackle than fish!! In a few days we will have sorted our fishing gear and moved most of it to the boat. If you like I will send you a personal message (PM) via the club site and we can arrange to meet on F with an hour to spare. I will run through our tackle and end gear (rigs) and talk about a few marks in and out of the harbour for you to try. Also on another occaision we can 'buddy' boat with you and go out together to fish an area. If you need a crew for company and experiance ask young Sam the Man if he would like a trip. He is Great White's (Charlie) son. A very pleasant lad a mad keen fisherman and full of local knowledge. Mad Mike
  11. OMG I hope not. Mad Mike
  12. Good work Sam. Mad Mike
  13. That's your warped sense of humour OUCH! A grade 'A1' touche Paul, take a gold star and move to the top of the form Mad Mike
  14. Bob is gonna ....talk about the hazards of the areas we fish, I just hope he includes Poole Bridge at half past the hour on a summer weekend. That's about the most dangerous bit of water I can think of Mad Mike

  16. I sold the Samurai today so Pride of Morpork I is off to Kent. I got a very good price for her and I am well pleased. My drive will feel quite naked now with no boat in it. I went down to Cobbs with some bits for the boat today and finished up just having a sit in the Jeanneau's cabin. No wind, sun shining warm as toasties Mad Mike
  17. What Adam said goes for me too So could whoever answers do it twice Mad Mike
  18. Quote...Suggest you go for 14mm anchor plait This is sort of the Rolls Royce end of anchor warp. There are much less costlier options available. Probably the best budget anchor warp is 12mm Nylon Twist. Easy to splice and pretty durable. It has a fair bit of stretch which is desireable on an anchor line. Currently I can buy 220M for
  19. Thank you for the info Bob. Yes I have the full DSC licence and it is about 5 years old. I have had a look and it says nothing about expiry date on it. We have yet to have the VHF fitted together with a GPS. I would welcome any advice on combo's at the lower end of the price range. We have decided to have them installed professionaly as I am certain I could never get them to 'talk to each other'. Mad Mike
  20. huge edible crab Some of us would call that a result mate, or did it hava a 'Don't eat me' claws. Mad Mike
  21. the council estate) You bitch!! Actually I prefer F pontoon as the view aft is rather pleasant and I feel more at home away from the gin palaces. THe other half owner of Pride of Morpork, Mark, has a buddy on the main marina. The guy has a 30' something Crancchi (sp) costing gazillions of pounds and he often complains about the stand offish nature of some round the posh bit. I found Cobbs VERY helpfull particularly Chas the guy in charge of F pontoon. We originally were allocated F126 but as I can't walk too far I had a quiet chat and showed them my disability blue badge. A few weeks later Chas phoned to say he had put us on F19. What a hero!! Oh if you do come round watch out for the Pit Bull on the iron chain next to the burnt out car! Mad Mike

    Bad Back

Quote........I just need to adapt to fishing sat down, I have had to Jack, I have to sit for about 90% of the time I am in the boat because of my back problem (Spinal Stenosis). Another thing you could try, assuming the chair is up to it, is to fasten a butt pad at the front just below the bit of the seat that you sit on. Drop the but end of the rod into the butt pad so that the pad on the chair becomes the fulcrum and you arethe leavering force using your shoulders. I have no idea if this will work in practice but the thought just came into my mind and although I can visualise it I have never (yet( tried it. Mad Mike
  25. Bob, itsa long time since I got my radio cert. Refresh my memory what is the mmsi number and where on my licence do I find it? Mad Mike
