  1. Oh certainly, we are expecting to fish more, particularly afternoon/evenings mid week. Launch and then recovering was a bit of a drag which was one of the things that prompted the upgrade. Also the very real posibility of overnighting on board leads to a good chance of going out on a Friday night and back on a Saturday evening when the weather improves. I must say we are getting very excited about getting her and familiarizing ourselves with her. If my memory serves the first engine service is at 20 hrs, and we would like to run her in and get the service done before the season proper starts. Just a thought by the way. Is there any chance of arranging a mutual photo session one sunny day on a you click mine and I'll click yours basis? It could be fun if several of us got together, and even more fun if we could get some flotilla shots for the web site. Mad Mike
  2. With Pride of Morpork all cleaned and spotless waiting to be sold, and Pride of Morpok II not available until 22 March, a gap has appeared in my 'things to tat around and do' list that retired blokes get their days filled by. I have read the Merry Fisher spec about 100 times, the Suzuki brochure 98 times, varnished me boat hook, bought a pile of goodies to go on the new boat, sat and sorted them out, cleaned and checked my tackle (Steady there in the back row!) Fishing Tackle!!! and am now bored. So to the sad bit. A bright and sunny morning so I went down to Cobbs to look at the berth they allocated to us. I had preveously explained about my problem walking too far and shown them my blue card to prove the point. What a nice bunch of people they are turning out to be! They have given us a berth on F pontoon about 30 foot from the entry gate, bang next to power and the fresh water hose. How sad? Two grown men and Carol grinning like loons stareing at a patch of water and imagining the hole in it that our new boat will fit in! Any way it's a lovely berth facing on to the back of Holes bay which in the summer should give some nice views for those evenings that one just wants to sit and chill. Mad Mike
  3. Bare foot water sking, best power bidet ever mate. BANG and the stain is gone! Mad Mike
  4. Reading the above makes me thankfull that I do not purchase any of the magazines mentioned or BFM. All are full of drivel and dodgy photo's of unshaven geezers and fish of either minute or gigantic proportions. And that also could apply to parts of the geezers (you know who you are!). Admitedly the mags need advertising but the ratio is way out of proportion to informative editorial, and if it isnt advertising it's pictures of the world and his wife with the fish wot they caught. I am sure this is done so that a certain amount of their magazine is sold to the friends and family of those pictured. with the number of good web sites covering sea fishing I can not see the point of magazines. 5. I'm sure you may have considered this but..... Have you tried the boat yard by the bridge to the causway to Portland? Basically you want a period of storage just at the time the stored boats are being put in the water. If you end up in Poole the cheapest swinging moorings are to be had at Davis's at SANDBANKS, not the one in Hamworthy. Same family but at war!! Any road up the Sandbanks fellah is a charming old codger, has no facilities, no ferry,no parking and a rickety old jetty (hence cheap). Thinking laterally you won't need a dinghy as I could almost guarantee that one of us could meet you at Davis's jetty and ferry you out most any time you wanted. (put my name down for a start). 6. AND Rockley is cheek to cheek with crime central for the Poole area Turlin Moore Council Estate. Home of the ASBO people. Mad Mike
  7. Doh! Mad and short sited Mike
  8. Yes. One of them. I didn't know there were two things up there, I always thought of it as Ridge Wharf now you remind me. Am I right in thinking storing up there would be cheaper than Poole? Mad Mike
  9. If there is no trailer and you do decide to go for a wet mooring then I was going to sugest the boat yard up the Wareham River. Because of it's position it does not command the high prices that the harbour yards command. But the name of it escapes me??????????. Mad Mike
  10. What a ride!!!!! Mad Mike
  11. Do you want dry stack because you might use the boat from time too time, or do you just want to store it for a period? I am not too sure which you want. But if it is just storage then there are less expensive ways than dry stacking. Mad Mike
  12. Coddy mate the dead line was 19th Feb I wonder why this was not given more publicity by the NFA and other organizations? Mad Mike
  13. Oh! Ithougt it were summat to do with sea fishing. Mad Mike
  14. Sea rescues after boat accidents Three people have been rescued from the sea off the coast of Dorset. The two separate incidents happened within minutes of each other on Saturday afternoon. The Portland coastguard helicopter spotted two sailors in the water in Studland Bay. They were rescued by Poole RNLI Inshore Lifeboat. A few minutes later the same helicopter airlifted a person from the sea off Old Harry Rocks when they were thrown into the water when their Rib flipped over. Mad Mike

  21. Just a point and a little moan. A week after I sent my Email re servicing my Suzuki I am still awaiting a reply. I know someone mentioned phoning them and perhaps it's a generation thing. But I think a professionaly run business should answer their correspondence in a timely manner. It's a silly thing like this that could loose them a few thousands of pounds business over the years. Mad Mike
  22. left with loads of worms Sam can you get to the pontoons at PYC? If so PM me as I have a cunning plan. Mad Mike
  23. You don't have to be cheaper Sam! You just have to be YOU!!!. and give good value like giving 105 worms for the shop price of 100. Mad Mike
  24. Sam justa thought if nothing turns up....... Have you thought of doing a bit of bait digging and soft back gathering. I am certain one of the fishing shops would be willing to buy off you as will any club members. Last year I was paying
