wotu2uk
Just looking through the timetable of bridge lifts, and most make good sense. Eg, in the morning, the old bridge will open as soon as TS bridge shuts, allowing boats to go out ok. Later, 4:00pm onwards, TS bridge opens as soon as old bridge closes, allowing boats into Holes Bay OK. However, if you go out in the morning and have to come back early, say, to catch the old bridge lift at 14:45, you will be stuck in the pool until the TS bridge opens at 16:15, 1 1/2 hours later. What if the reason for your early return was an emergency??? Comments?? John
Maverick Martin
John when you have lived in Poole as long as I have you will learn that the BOP excell at cocking most things up.
Brian
I suppose it would depend on the emergency, but you could call "Poole Bridge" on channel 12, explain your problem and try your luck. Or like me have a boat that will pass under. Or move to Rockley with the rest of the club. Edited March 5, 2012 by Brian
Maverick Martin
Oh and another thing you will never be able to tell them they have something wrong as they know it all. Look out for a building site coming to Cobbs soon

Brian
You're probably right, it seems quiet at Cobbs compared to a couple of years ago. Apparently 8 boats moved from Cobbs to Rockley last week.

Rob
All looks a bit silly to me this one way bridge system! A real pain for those at Cobbs and Davis', who require the lift. I can see the rush to Rockley putting up their prices!!!!!

Wedger
If you have a boat that will safely pass under the bridges do you still have to wait for the lift?
