Rob Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 (edited) I have been thinking of this topic for a little while now and reading Adam's report made me put it down in this post. We regularly accept fish weights on a trust basis, this is fine and a nice feature of the club. However, is the angler being misled by his \ her scales? I used to often hang carrier bags with bottles of lemonade in and ensuring that a 2litre bottle was 2kg etc........on my analogue dial scales. I must admit, now that I have digital scales I only did it when I first bought them. Who else checks their scales to verify them? Remember to check not only the 1lb \ 2lb weights but right up to the limit of the scales! Rob Edited October 2, 2009 by rob francis Quote

Brian Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 (edited) Yes, as accurate as I can tell. Just got to catch something worth weighing Edited October 2, 2009 by Brian Quote
Adam F Posted October 2, 2009 Report Posted October 2, 2009 Good point Rob. I loved loved my digi scales over the past few years - they are bomb proof, unlike spring or dial scales which do need looking after.... ....but after yesterday I've lost faith in them and will be going back to a trusty set of Reuben Heatons or Salters. I test mine periodically (about once a year!) Quote
