Hi,Alun J.I already did just as you suggested {bought a neat little fridge freezer and put it in the garage] This was in preparation for the day when Andy and I caught lots of fish and to store my Rubby Dubby....Guess what ?? It has never had a fish in it caught by me,and is now filled to the top with Apples {chopped up ]Bread [against the heavy snow that prevents us shopping] and Chickens ,surplus to requirements having been purchased whenever they were 2 for

Andy and I used to throw away loads of Rag.But it seemed such a waste ,that I started taking them home and putting them in the freezer.I now take them on trips and use them to "pad out" our fresh worm on the hook.If all else fails you can chop them up and add them to the Groundbait...Whilst on holiday, I have kept Rag alive in the bottom of the fridge [the salad compartment is great ]for well over a week.I keep them in a box, seperated in 3s or 4s between layers of towelling that have been partially wrung out from salt water. What have you to lose?. P.S. in answer to my own rhetoricle question,Ask the wife FIRST ! jack

Wow Fella's .What a difference being able to read my pages again. Thanks for yor help.it worked a treat. My keys for @ and for " remain reversed [ I did follow the advice, and the machine was set for USA english.] Nevertheless I can live with this fault,as long as the machine remains useable..Thank you again..jack

Help please. I had to buy a new P,C,..I set it all up and everything works fine except for 2 points.. 1. the @ and " are reversed. [ my daughters lap- top has the same problem ] 2. The script lettering on all the sites [this one included] is so small I can barely read it .I have used Tool Bar/View/Text size and slected LARGEST. And although this has improved my Home page and such things as my Msn Livemail. and Favourites .it doesnt work on Orange-mail or other internet sites. It is presumably cureable, but can someone please tell me how.? jack

Does anyone know of a a worm digger/seller.in the area, west of the swing bridge at Poole.[blandford side ] I ask because it is always awkward, and touch and go parking at the tackle shop, with a boat behind the vehicle. There used to be a house with a notice board in the housing estates near where the old power station used to be.Thanks...jack

In his never ending search for bigger and better fish capturing gear,Andy has dug out his old Penn Senater 6/0 reel. [big red jobby].It twinkles nicely;weighs a ton and has a nice noisy ratchet and a smooth winding action....However,no amount of pressure will "lock" the drag.It just quietly lets off line.I have offered to take it to bits, but am reluctant to do so as ;[a].its not mine, I dont really know what to do other than clean off extra oil or grease.I have tried to find a service sheet on the net without success...Would anyone like to offer any advice on the subject, other than to take it to a dealer.{Andy is much too tight for that]...jack

For anyone planning to carry their inflatable in the boot in its bag,I can recommend the ones now being produced with the new type of inflatable floor. They really do inflate as hard as a plank, and give you a proper V profile in the water.I am told that this type of inflation is now being used as fold-up surf boards with great success. My Zodiac Fastroller is an example [although a bit pricey ] jack
-
Well done Tom.I use my 3.10 Zodiac every day when I go to N.Wales. But beware of Bass spines when you lift them into the boat,I now have a piece of industrial grade carpet on the inflatable floor in the back section of the boat.[i punctured mine, last year.] .I have just purchased a little road trailer and hope to fish in Poole this season.I have a 10hp outboard which is difficult for me to lift in and out ,so I plan to trail it with the engine in place.I only have a Ford Ka. which takes neither roof rack nor tow hitch,so I have to use my Campervan, which is a bit "overkill"on slipways, but I hope with this setup and a little common sense I can manage by hand {even with my 2 replaced hips and a bad back. at least if I fall in the boat, I only bounce and not crunch ! ] They say,"where there's a will, there's a way," and by the sound of other posted comments I will be a figure of envy and not pity. Thanks for the encouragement Tom.See you on the water..jack

Put me down for a share,if you get round to it Kam. jack

Duncan,I am sure there are too many for you to weave that flying machine of yours in a and out and around them to avoid detection. However I have heard of a company who do an invisibility shield, but it's rather expensive at present. jack

Something to be said for having your boat on the top shelf on the rack. jack

You are correct Trevor,I too have spent hours studying these charts. What a pity our own section between Xchurch ledge and Portland is not covered in detail.Perhaps one day it will,I may even "fill it in " myself. jack

well done Rupert.excellent catch...jack

Very interesting site Andy, but you cant rely on the figures quoted,as they are a long way from accurate.I have tried to find a few of them with little success,I know where a couple are for sure, and they are not where the wrecksite say's they are.But certainly true about whileing away your time.We have whiled away quite a bit of it on them. jack

Mad Mike [my hero] QUOTE.." I am the tightest thing with my money". Got you beat there Mike.Andy and I hold our anchor bouy away from the bow,{about a boat length usually ] with a 6" rubber tyred pram wheel, with one of its spokes removed to allow a loop of the anchor warp to be passed throgh to fix it in place. I got 4 for 50p with a free push chair thrown in,from our re-cycling dump. The good thing is that its got that soft rim,and if it hits" old mother Andy's", shiny boat he does'nt get stroppy. It slips on and off in seconds and you can get a good grip on it with cold wet hands. jack

Well done Adam.Maintaining the post of " my hero".. jack
