An experienced shark fisherman who intends to tag and release would not boat a shark. A sharks liver is a very delicate organ, and too easily damaged. If you had to boat one which is to be released use a sling. Quite why the mention of 'great white shark family' other than to sensationalise, is beyond me. Both porbeagle and great white are Lamniformes, commonly called 'mackerel sharks' of which there are about 16. It is not the 'Great White Shark family' Journalists... ................. reliably wrong.... (That feels better)...

They will taste great now they've been in some running water for a while. I would expect the EA will want them out. I've heard of a few turning up dead in the harbour. There are some corkers in the top end of Xchurch harbour.
