    Propeller Guard

Thanks Charlie and Rob. I saw the advert and wondered ? ? Charlie, you confirmed what I thought. Rob, I fitted a whale tail to Small Fry, but but wasn't happy with it. I was told that Adam ( Bass Man ) had fitted trim tabs to lift the back end at a lower speed. And of course Tiddler is not perfect ( everythings a compromise with boats ) She's bloody lovely though ! Propeller Guard

Has anyone researched these things ? http://www.propguardmarine.com/test.html Propeller Guard I'm interested in the safety aspect as well as the possibilities of lifting the back end without trim tabs. If there's gonna be a performance drop then I'm not interested. So - - - - -over to you lot. What are your thoughts ? ? ? Jim
  4. By Eck Lad ! You HAVE been busy ! Persistent arne't you. I'm looking forward to hearing a success story at the end of all this. It'd be a great prezzie if you get it going by Christmas. Jim

  6. Got this Today from Charles Broughton, Designer and Builder of the Pilot boats. It's much the same as DiverDave's link. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Jim, Looks like you have Tiddler balanced just right, great photo! With regards to your discussion on maximum towing weights for trailers see the following link: http://www.ntta.co.uk/law/law/identification_plates.aspx This states that for unbraked trailers - max. 750kg gross trailer weight or half the towing vehicle's kerb weight - whichever is less. Kerb weight is the car weight including fuel, oil, etc. and can include the driver within the EU. So check the kerb weight of the tow vehicle and half it and then check the manufacturers maximum stated unbraked towing weight and use the lowest value as maximum unbraked towing weight. The Indespension trailer for the Pilot4 weighs in at 135kg, add to this the boat only mass of 290kg, then add engine, fuel, anchor, battery, etc. to give your final towing weight. Also check the following link for lots more information on trailers and towing: http://www.ntta.co.uk/law/ Hope this helps, Charlie -------------------------------------------------------- Jim

  15. A 44lb carp has been around a long time and been caught many times. The theory that fish are stupid is nonsense. Every time they get caught, they learn something. A 44lber would be a wiley quarry. So very well done to your Son Trev. Jim
  16. Hi Fred, I don't know how much you want to spend, but I'm sure that Westport Marine have a special deal on at the moment n Pilot 4 hulls. The guy that designed and builds them is very helpful. ( Charles Broughton ). They sell them at Poole Marine Services in Poole. I'm not sure when I'll be out in mine again, but you're welcom to come out for a spin. I chose this boat after selling my Warrior 165 because it was a bit too heavy for me on my own. I can push this one about easily, I don't need a braked trailer and I tow it with a Hyundai I30. Give me a call if you fancy a " butchers ". My phone number is in the PM Jim
  17. Hi Fred, I live in Poole if you fancy a look. PM on it's way.

    Church Goers

This made me smile. A CHURCH STORY A small church had a very attractive big busted organist, and her breasts were so large that they bounced and jiggled while she played the organ. Unfortunately, she distracted the congregation considerably. The very proper church ladies were appalled. They said something had to be done about this or they would have to get another organist. So, one of the ladies approached her very discreetly about the problem, and told her to mash up some green persimmons and rub them on her nipples and over her breasts, which should cause them to shrink in size, but warned her not to taste any of the green persimmons, because they are so sour they would make her mouth pucker up, and she wouldn't be able to talk properly for awhile. The voluptuous organist reluctantly agreed to try it. The following Sunday morning the minister walked up to the pulpit and announced... "Dew to thircumsthanthis bewond my contwol, we will not hab a thermon tewday" Jim
  22. Super boat Alan. Jim
  23. Are you lot looking at a different weather forecast than me ? ? ? ?
  24. Hi Terry, Sorry about Dilys' arm. Make sure she keeps the other parts of the arm moving. The joints lock up so quickly. The fozen joints are worse than the break. Jim

Brian, Them's lovely Tubes. Tiddler's tubes are still in my imagination, but various styles are being considered. I need to get them sorted soon though. Jim
