  1. I listened avidly ..........with my eyes Compelling viewing I think. Kam started something with this one didn't he ? I didn't look at it for days as I'm not really interested in photography, although I'm happy taking snaps. After a while I began to realise that maybe I should take a bit more interest. Thank you Kam. Jim
  2. It's amazing how us fishermen are willing to take up new interests when the weather is bad for such a long period. Jim

    Rod Holders

Barney ( The Grinch ) bought some ( or something very similar ). I've been in engineering all my adult life and could not believe that something so bad ( sharp edges etc. ) could be on sale in this country. I put him onto the people that make the holders which I designed for Small Fry. He's having a batch of single mount tubes made. I suspect he's ordered more than he needs so there could be some up for sale ? ? ? Over to you Mick ... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . But I suppose if you want cheap and nasty . . . . . . . you gets what you pay for I suppose. Jim

  11. Greetings. I don't know what most of you do, but I just listed this lot on ebay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251205327323?ssP...984.m1555.l2649 They could be cut down for other uses and of course, club members would be in for a bit of discount. Jim

Have a Wicked Christmas. I know we will ! Jim & Jacqui.
  17. Very Very well done Steve. That's my Birthday so don't know what I'm doing yet. But I intend to get out much more now. We all have our radios switched on, so there should be plenty of boats to hand in an emergency. Good luck, it sounds like great fun. Jim

    Propeller Guard

Thanks Charlie and Rob. I saw the advert and wondered ? ? Charlie, you confirmed what I thought. Rob, I fitted a whale tail to Small Fry, but but wasn't happy with it. I was told that Adam ( Bass Man ) had fitted trim tabs to lift the back end at a lower speed. And of course Tiddler is not perfect ( everythings a compromise with boats ) She's bloody lovely though ! Jim

    Propeller Guard

Has anyone researched these things ? http://www.propguardmarine.com/test.html Propeller Guard I'm interested in the safety aspect as well as the possibilities of lifting the back end without trim tabs. If there's gonna be a performance drop then I'm not interested. So - - - - -over to you lot. What are your thoughts ? ? ? Jim
  21. By Eck Lad ! You HAVE been busy ! Persistent arne't you. I'm looking forward to hearing a success story at the end of all this. It'd be a great prezzie if you get it going by Christmas. Jim
  22. I doubt I'll get a chance Charlie, But you're always welcome to come out on " proper " boat with me. Jim
  23. Got this Today from Charles Broughton, Designer and Builder of the Pilot boats. It's much the same as DiverDave's link. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Jim, Looks like you have Tiddler balanced just right, great photo! With regards to your discussion on maximum towing weights for trailers see the following link: http://www.ntta.co.uk/law/law/identification_plates.aspx This states that for unbraked trailers - max. 750kg gross trailer weight or half the towing vehicle's kerb weight - whichever is less. Kerb weight is the car weight including fuel, oil, etc. and can include the driver within the EU. So check the kerb weight of the tow vehicle and half it and then check the manufacturers maximum stated unbraked towing weight and use the lowest value as maximum unbraked towing weight. The Indespension trailer for the Pilot4 weighs in at 135kg, add to this the boat only mass of 290kg, then add engine, fuel, anchor, battery, etc. to give your final towing weight. Also check the following link for lots more information on trailers and towing: http://www.ntta.co.uk/law/ Hope this helps, Charlie -------------------------------------------------------- Jim
